What is the difference between chains and links?

Chains means you could cancel a normal's active (or is it recovery? Not too sure) frames into another normal while with linking you have to wait for the full animation to finish before doing the other move.

Also, at that pic. What are blazblue players suppose to be?

Asking what you did wrong works as long as you didn't get totally schooled. One of the Dictator players here (I can't remember which one) leveled me. I asked him what he thought, and his answer was that I really didn't do anything. I just took punches.

I laughed. On the outside. :(

Heh, I think that was me when we had a fight night a while back because I remember you asking.

I think what I specifically said was that you just never got on the offensive and didn't use upball at all to get me off you. I was jumping in and doing cross-ups all day long and you would either just block or eat it. You just seemed way too focused on defending yourself and you weren't able to swing the momentum the other way.

Also, just watched the Inthul vs. Sanford match, that was great. I do tend to want to see Sanford go down when he's playing Sagat, but there was that video where it showed him give Inthul a hug or some shit when the match wrapped up. He seemed to take it in stride unlike some other players would.

I really have to start asking people what i do well and incorrectly. I have this illusion that when i lose its due to dropping combos or jumping too much so im like aright, i got it, keep practicing.

But im missing the whole point of multiple player lobbies who can really see the patterns and mistakes easier then the one whos actually playing and too busy to dwell on that shit. I guess i should go into a lobby with someone, 1v1, fight 10 times. Then watch the replays see what i was doing wrong and what the opponent was doing wrong.

This could actually be a super cool idea for two people. Play a few rounds, go watch them TOGETHER, and then go back to playing. Then you can say "Oh yeah, here I KNEW you'd do this, you need to work on this" or "You kept getting owned by this, here's what other people I play online do to stop that." You could watch your own shit, and your opponent's stuff, and get constructive feedback while providing some.

When I'm starting off I just pick a character I like due to character design/personality and try them for a while. If they click I'm golden, if not I move on to the character I like the second most due to said criteria. And then on down the line as much as I need to.

Later I might end up being like "I want to try a character with such-and-such play style that's different from my normal" and then I'll try them. But that's after I've already found one or two other characters that I already like.

Granted most of the people here can kick my ass so maybe I'm not the best person to give advice for this.

That's a sweet concept for sure, maybe even with a 3rd party critique as well. I may go thru and pick out some matches from ranked to save where I have bad times too to see if an extra set of eyes can help with what's going on.

That is a good idea, although unless you kinda read up on the characters and stuff, you're really only going to be skimming the surface of the character. Maybe tell us what type of character/playstyle you'd like, and then the forum can give you some direction to go in.
