Really? He went up for a header and then brought one fist down at the goalie's head. He didn't need to use only his right arm that hard for momentum. Jump up in the air and pretend like you are heading a ball to the right. Does your left arm stay still and your right arm come down in a quick motion? No it doesn't.

No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.
Could still be a goal for either team, but if there is one I'd have to say it'd be the Italians.

Are both teams expected to be happy with a tie? Haven't kept up to game expectations beyond hearing that Italy's had a rough run in their friendlies and Paraguay nearly topping Brazil in qualifying.

Italy cannot be happy with this ... they are the defending champions. But they have to be happy they managed a tie and didn't lose the game. France ... England ... Italy .... none of the big European teams were any good so far. Only Germany played awesome ...
Paraguay can somewhat be happy with the tie .. it could have been a win though.
Italy improved towards the end, but Paraguay were making some major run-ins towards Italy's defense, who weren't really on form, so I'd say Paraguay played a little better overall.
Admitedly it's early in the tournament, but none of the major Euro squads aside from Germany have played well, and Germany were pretty much just playing as they usually do.
Hopefully the other teams will pick up the pace a little in the second round of group matches, otherwise we could be in for a not exactly exciting group stage.
Just goes to show you how prepared some teams are for their opponents while that the same showing that powerhouses aren't entitled to an easy three games in the group stage.
eh, group phase can often have a number of boring games
what else do you expect when you have 48 games in the group phase alone
The only game I'd call truly terrible was Slovenia Algeria. Others certainly weren't good (Uru-France, Japan-Cameroon) but I didn't get agitated on how bad they were

Probably causing hell in betting rings. :P
I actually think some of the pros are probably killing. Some of the upsets were predictable to someone that follows the sport and the odds were crazy (Ghana ~nearly 3-1, US draw Uruguay draw, Paraguay-Italy draw all above 2-1)
New Zealand - Slovakia, two of the weakest teams in the tournament
Ivory Coast - Portugal, two of the stronger teams in the tournament
Brazil - NK - Stop it! You're killing them! (4-0?)

Thanks. Now I have an image stuck in my head of Italy and Paraguay playing this match Blood Bowl style.

German TV said Sciatic Nerve ... dunno who's right tho . But it was some injury ...

Paraguay should be happy how their midfield and defense limited Italy. However, not having Cabañas to give them critical goals hurts.

Wait, so if you score a goal so far you have been guaranteed to either win (and thus blank the other side) or draw?

thats why ties are more important in games vs tough opponents that they know they cant clearly beat.

Only if the North Koreans assassinate every single other team will we get a NK upset.
Only a handful of countries even have missions or embassies in NK, China does, the UK does, Iran probably does.. don't know about any others.
Here we go, embassies list bit longer than I expected.

I've got a spare copy of Portal, if anyone wants it message me.
25/1 for NK
7.5/1 for a tie
1/12.5 for Brazil
Only 2.3 to 1 for NK to get 1 point in the groups, which is a terrible bet IMO

What are the odds for North Korea to even score a goal? I cant imagine they are going to put up any kind of challenge at all.
