I have that one predicted as 6 - 1 for Brazil. Granted, I have proven absolute shit at these predictions, but I feel this one is solid.

Well they still had to go through qualification.

I have it at 4-0, but its tough to tell because we don't know when Brazil will get bored. And no I am not kidding.

Although if Cape Verde can draw 0-0 vs Portugal there's no reason NK can't

I've got Brazil beating them 6-0. For those unaware, North Korea plays really defensive football. Not nearly the diving Italy does, but it's catenaccio turned up to 11. You're curious to see how they play, but once you actually get a look at them, you just want it to go away.

Problem is, it's not the best catenaccio- they're ranked where they are for a reason- and as the ESPN preview guide put it, "apply enough pressure and watch the pipes burst."

Yeah, it's like they're everyone's sworn enemy, but in reality they aren't the Politics of DPRNKRKPDN- or whatever.

They're just players on a team.

Really intriguing story on North Korea's striker, Jong Tae-se.

He's born and raised in Japan, his club is Kawasaki Frontale, but capped for North Korea due to... let's go with issues with Japan and South Korea.

I feel terrible for the North Korean team. They're going to lose each of their matches, brutally. I just hope the players/coaches aren't put to death or something upon returning home. They are so, so, so bad and they're going to get destroyed.

eh, I don't think they're really BAD, they're just completely outmatched by the other teams in their group. In some other groups they might have a chance at advancing.

So today's Brazil vs. N. Korea match will be between literal diametric opposites. If the Brazilians lose they go home to their beach houses and will probably have orgies or surf. If the Koreans lose they will most likely be sent for re-education and Kim Jong-Il will go on state radio to regale his countrymen with stories of how he scored 10 goals single-handedly.

I CAN'T WAIT. I wonder if N. Korea will have any fans.

I put 1-0 Slovakia in the Yahoo league but put my money on a tie or win in my parlays with Brazil and/or Ivory Coast because the idea that they were 3/1 or 27/4(tie) underdogs was a bit far fetched

NZ strikers not backing themselves to beat their man and relying on the high ball. All kinds of messy.

This is kind of painful to watch. Especially that miskick.

Oh I was almost expecting the all whites to not be a disappointment from the opening minutes of the game, then I watched the first half and BZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz can't be bothered tuning in for the second half.

The first half had enough to remind me why I dislike soccer - incredibly questionable or outright wrong calls (we should have had one more corner in the first half with that shot that hit the side of the net, and that yellow card was bullshit). Bleh.

that yellow wasn't bs, he came in late and stepped on the guys toes, who then got twisted up and could of fucked his knee up. sure they missed the corner call but at full speed it didn't even look like he touched it.
