The only thing you lacked in that game was good scouting. He could have done some 2 gate pressure and beat you easily, but if you had been scouting with an scv and then sitting on that tower when he got zealots out, you could start building a bunker when he moves out, or if you suspect an early attack.
Also you could have positioned your barracks to make them cozy around a possible bunker, you were like, 1 grid away from that I think.
That game got me thinking, have you considered marauders into hellions for tvp? Like go 2 rax with tech labs, get out 4 marauders and push. A 3rd rax would be working on a reactor and when your factory finished you would put in on that and start pumping hellions.

Yeah, I can be really lazy on the scouting. In 2v2 I normally send the guy who makes the depot but I think I put him into making a refinery.
In my mind when the game was loading up, my plan was 2 rax, factory, 3rd rax w/ reactor. I didn't get to the reactor part of the plan. Marauders are just so good vs. zealot/stalker. My plan all along was to abuse immobility and get 2 hellions in there. edit: and marines are just useless vs. zealots early on so fuck them.
We should practice 1v1s sometime... that goes for anyone. I am free most nights if you PM me here or on SC2. Though it's about time for the True Blood finale.
compared to the other "wars" games, roundabout war is especially frustrating for me because I always do pretty well to start with, and then it turns out someone else has been planning some crazy shit all along
one game, a guy built about 15 of the structures that just give a bunch of income, and then he spawned a bunch of mind-controlling novas and jacked their armor up to 10
I just went and tried this
I lost, but I had a lot of fun trying it
I think the creator must read these forums, because this exact tactic just got nerfed a matter of hours ago
they made upgrades way more expensive, and basically made nova pretty terrible

so whenever I'm matched with a Plat player, i stomp them, but like 3/5 times I'm matched with a Diamond player, I lose (albeit they're usually close games)
A completely contrived situation that'll never happen in a real match, but I wonder. TvT, have one player build a ghost academy and stock it with a nuke, have the other player build a supply depot right next to it. Kill off every other unit and building on the map except the ghost and one unit from the other player. Stand them together, bring the ghost academy down low enough that it just starts on fire, and then nuke where you stand, destroying the academy, the ghost, the other player's depot, and the other player's unit. Both players instantly have no units and no buildings. Who gets the win?
The nuker, who finished the game with an attack, or
Player 1 every time, or Player 2 every time, if it checks win conditions in a certain order, or
Neither player, since you broke the game?

You can have games end in a draw, I think.
Maybe.

wanna test this out? My money is on the nuker.
if it's anything like the sc1 the nuke counts as a unit, and the nuke doesn't "die" until after the damage is done.

Oh, custom match with 1 AI in Multiplayer mode? I had been trying custom single-player mode, and the AI went "gg" after they lost most their stuff, so the only way to continue was to force continue and go into that mode that never ends unless you manually quit. The other way worked fine and ended the game properly:
So the mythical Tied screen does exist. The question is, has that ever happened in a SC2 ladder match?
It's a new thing Day9 is doing, wherein he suggests something crazy for people to try, which could possibly lead to awesome strategies, and he will do commentary on some of the games.
For the first one, the challenge is to play as Zerg without using any queens. :rotate:

edit to say: I was trying out gretorp's (?) gas before barracks play for fast hellions. I liked it.
and ugh. i know. supply blocked soooooo badly.

Custom game, easy AI. Came out tied.

Tournament games have tied, but only because both players refused to attack. (Day9 did a daily on one such game)
