The models and texturing on that map are amazing. Looking at the preview pic for the video it didn't even look like tf2. Is it available for download? I'd love to try it out.

Hmmm.. That map is still bad. Xzzy is right about the over detailing. The halloween theme thing might work, if the map is only played at Halloween because, it would suck to play it year around. The layout is bad. If you dislike dustbowl, youll hate this one. Welcome to cp_demospamworstthandustbowl.

Pakrat has always been glitchy. I've learned you have to pack things by hand (not using the auto button) and do it in small amounts, otherwise it will skip things.

The problem I have with that map is it's way too fucking big.

Are we playing an adventure game or a team-based FPS. I didn't see any place for BLU spawns, so who knows how far one would have to walk.

The artpass map? Have you ran around it yet? I'm kind of surprised you say this because it feels like a shoe box. Especially around the 2nd point.

Its about 70% of the size of the paproject/gorge and has one more point. Unless the artist(s) alter the playing area, it's going to be the new demobowl. Choke city.

There's a difference between a small map and a map that severely limits viable navigation options. At a certain point (say, with cp_junction), an effective offense is a pipe dream on account of the fact that you can't dodge the pipe bombs.

Liking small maps is implicit in not liking large maps. Small maps are usually chokey, and therefore bad. I am disagreeing with you.

    Not really.

I like maps that have good direction and provide options as to how to achieve the map-specific objective (i.e. I hate terrible choke points).

Neither are exclusive to small maps.

Heh. Wouldn't you know it I just encountered the inventory-moving bug again.

And I think I figured out what caused it.

When we were playing late last night I was having trouble connecting to the Steam server. I also managed to get my third engineer milestone and the Wrangler. I died at one point and was award the pain train first, and the wrangler second.

Cut to tonight, I go to manage my inventory and it's out of whack again. What do you know, the pain train is taking up the first spot and the wrangler is taking up the second spot.

I'm going to resubmit a support ticket.

I'm going to resubmit a support ticket.

    And I did.
I encountered a bug with the items in my backpack moving without my input.

I think I have a good handle on what caused it. I was having trouble connecting to the TF2 item server last night. During the course of gameplay I was awarded a random item while I was connected to the item server, a pain train, and a milestone item, the wrangler, in that order. After being awarded these items I discovered I was no longer connected to the item server. Today, when I connected, items in my inventory were moved. I discovered the pain train, which I was awarded first last night, was in the very first slot of my inventory, and the wrangler was in the very second slot of my inventory. Slots that had previously been occupied by other items. These items were now in the firstmost and secondmost previously empty backpack slots.

I already reported this as a bug, but I have a closed ticket about the bug in question, and I'm still hoping to get an item back that I lost because it was moved and I did not realize it was moved. The item in question was a level 78 huntsman that was moved from the very first slot of my backpack, by this exact bug, into a slot it was not supposed to be in, leading me to believe it was not my level 78 huntsman before I crafted it.

Once again, I contend that crafting an item moved *without my knowledge* does not constitute intent on my part in crafting that item, does qualify as technical support, and does warrant reimbursement of the item. Thank you.

I was thinking it would be interesting if the mini sentry had the ability to shoot stickies on it's own. It would have to be last on the list of targets (ie shoots players in range first then stickies in range.) Might make a defensive fun-geneer be looked down on less, if it can help shoot stickies around team mates feet and help protect left 3 sentries better from stickies.
