Hey everyone! I'm posting this re-drawn version of an older comic for two reasons. Reason 1 is that I am out of town. REASON 2 is that there is a new thing you can buy which contains THIS REDRAWN STRIP PLUS MANY OTHER THINGS:
That's right, the very first print collection of QC is now on sale! I am so proud and excited about this book you guys, it is CRAZY. It contains the first 300 strips (minus guest comics), commentary on each strip, and other fabulous things! I THINK YOU SHOULD GO BUY ONE RIGHT NOW.
No they didn't have time. They ate, slept and worked. Some of them found uninteresting partners at work who they married and came home to. Sometimes they would half-heartededly thrust into each other and children were made. They lived a middle class existence until their deaths to heart disease and cancer.
Most of them moved out to the suburbs, tried to be "cool parents" and raised similarly boring trust-fund kids who would carry on their self-absorbed legacy.
Most of the girls grew their hair out, everyone stopped wearing quirky t-shirts.
All of them universally agreed that the whole "pretending we have a robot" thing was childish and forgot about it.

Did it bring all the friends together, even the ones who became estranged over the years?
The death led them to blame one another. Two of them, in a moment of weakness, lost their virginities to each other without protection and the girl got pregnant. The boy refused to take responsibility and the baby was aborted in the back of a filthy free clinic.
You know, XKCD is alright these days I guess, it has its moments, but I liked it a lot better before it went "big time."
I guess what I'm trying to say is...
It's popular so now it sucks...ish.
I also miss back when Randall Munroe was apparently going through a darker period in his life and would periodically do those appallingly depressing, morose, emo comics out of nowhere. I enjoyed those.
Hmm, hotlinking this makes me notice the (intentional?) misalignment of the panels.

i think it's just some random customer
She broke the heart of little doormat twig boy, Weasel or Mink or Marten or whatever his name is.

grab a bite or you'll be a hobo cheesewheeler!
If the preview images for the book are any indication: no.
However the old strips also have 'original version' next to them so maybe the re-drawn versions are found somewhere else in the book.

their kids all became video-game addicted shut-ins and had minimal contact with the outside world
They had drama.
Until one of them was hit by a car.
