Fucking ridiculous. Now it isn't just old man McCain blocking it, I guess.
The military upper ranks and actives aren't helping change it either.
Reports and recommendations from top brass were all in favor of repealing DADT, I thought? Defense secretary Robert Gates, Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen and Gen. Petraeus are all in favor of repeal.
What other upper ranks are opposing it?
Plenty of generals and polls of active duty particularly in the Marine Corps. aren't too keen on it. It gives vet assholes like McCain a handy little out.
i remember callius had this vid where a republican strategist had compared a woman having her kid using school lunches to child abuse and thought yeah we need to cut this shit and give tax breaks to people that make millions
If it turns out that this was all a scheme to let the Republicans take credit for repealing it (which like 70% of the American public wants)...I just don't know

But its chances are pretty slim, in any case
to be honest, it shouldn't have been a rider on that other bill
Republican senators blocked Democratic legislation on Thursday that sought to provide medical care to rescue workers and residents of New York City who became ill as a result of breathing in toxic fumes, dust and smoke from ground zero.
the tax cuts have all the functionality and strategy of things that clinically need to continue but republicans clearly want the credit for
that's why you didn't hear a whole lot of those nasty campaign ads mentioned the continuing or discontinuing of unemployment benefits
if you are out of work, at bare minimum either side has a significant stake in keeping that shit afloat so find quiet solace in the fact they will do this so they are not robbed in the street

there must be something else to this story...
the "something else" is that republicans are refusing to allow any legislation until the democrats give the ultra rich their tax cuts
The Democrats should introduce something called the "Jesus, Guns, and NASCAR Are Awesome Act" just to watch the Republicans squirm as they try to justify to their base blocking it until billionaires don't see a modest tax increase, or back down from their promise to block everything until billionaires are free from a modest tax increase.

The only question was how far down the rank and file he would be willing to go to find a patsy to justify his bigotry.
the tax cuts can get fucked
bush era tax cuts, fucking really
:^: :^: :^:
Maybe. Maybe not. I really think it would be a lot harder on them if the troops supported it but who the fuck knows.
Hey, rich people need money too.
Besides, everybody knows that once you start giving tax cuts to the other 98% of the population, they start demanding crazy shit.
Next thing you know, poor people will be demanding improved job education and more homeless shelters.

Is jumping on top of a train a crime?
not exactly
i think it was something to the effect that it'd be expiring for the people who were on it the longest or have hit the threshold of time

Okay, did you do it with a wizened old scientist, who you are inexplicably friends with, despite the fact that he's 30 years older than you?
