the problem with "my social calendar is empty so WoW is my substitute" is that you never have any incentive to get out and create a healthier social life
I have a hard time making friends, so hopefully people are less tied up after Christmas.
I find the trick with anything addictive is to just have a set of things that you will not compromise no matter what for it. Like, take WoW for example. I'll never play WoW over hanging out with friends, or fencing, or certain other activities.
For drinking I never drink alone, for another example.

I say this only because I am guilty of having done the same thing, basically

Yeah I quit WoW because it was taking up too much of my time and I was getting addicted to it. That is why I don't wanna play it again because I don't wanna fall into that same pattern.

This is a good thing. I do this for weekends, but my group raids during the week, and if it's progression I'll do my best to be there in-game.
Otherwise, meh.
Although, it's interesting that the whole "drinking alone" thing seems like it's mostly an American thing.

Well part of that for me is a pretty much only drink to get drunk. I don't pair a nice glass of wine with some food or own a some nice brandy to sip on or anything. I lack the funds for either such endeavor, and neither actually sounds very appealing to me anyway.

Lately I am a very lonely person, and WoW is like the equivalent of eating McDonalds when you're hungry. It's not great but it's better than nothing and everyone is guilty of it.

Yeah, same for me, usually. I don't like wine, and stuff like whiskey burns like hell for me. Never had brandy or cognac, though.

Alliance or Horde, though?
You're spelling McDonalds a very strange way there.
Though I think I've lost every game I've played with Cass and Eddy so why would they want to play with me
You forget White Castle, only outclassed in trashiness by its knockoff, Krystal.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Horde.

Logging on then. Lets make it fast and win.

Walking around on those... whaddya call 'em?

Good drunk food.
