i'm watching sportscenter and they were just talking about this 'roethlisberger goes to a piano bar' story
there's something profoundly weird about everybody saying "this is a non-story," and then seemingly justifying it by saying "it's all anyone is talking about" followed by a montage of every analyst also on espn saying it's a non-story
Considering ESPN's initial reaction to Roethlisberger's last incident (they issued a "Do Not Report" memo in case anyone forgot) I am not at all surprised they're downplaying it for the most part.
As someone who thinks Ben has a problem with alcohol I think it's definitely more than a non-story.

Pssh! He was just taking his offensive linemen out to dinner! And then to a bar! And out past their 1am curfew! No big deal, dude, it was Tuesday.

oh i was just saying it's funny that espn is driving the story by calling it a non-story
if they don't think it's a story, why have people say it isn't every couple of minutes
I watch very little sports news the week before the Super Bowl because 95% of it is garbage.
hi5, this is my tactic as well. I mean I know every type of media does this but they way they have to spin non-stories into big fucking deals just to try to keep people watching is kind of sad.
i watch around the horn semi-frequently, but mostly to pass time until pti (though lately i haven't really been feeling pti as much. wilbon has started to really irritate me with his constant talking about his friends the players.)
i know the guy who punched his girlfriend or whatever isn't on any more but seriously fuck that show
I had a dream recently in which the TV was on in the background and they mentioned the report came from Jay Mariotti, and I thought, "Didn't that guy get fired?"
Plaschke is terrible because he's an old man motor mouth with a speech impediment who tries to speed up even faster to get his point in when I can't even tell what it is anyway.
I'm pretty done with all of the ESPN shows aside from Sportscenter. There's something about watching people, some of whom are decent writers, mug for the camera and try to shout over each other because everything has to be flashy and entertaining now that just rubs me the wrong way.

I'm addicted to Around the Horn, the Scott Van Pelt Show, and Simmons' podcast.
Irony only goes so far.

everybody on that show is an obnoxious douche
i know the guy who punched his girlfriend or whatever isn't on any more but seriously fuck that show
Because it is the best.

it is so best
blond guy really makes the show
It really is that much better. Also, I like Reali even though his hair is awful.
I like Adande, Colishaw, and Bomani.
Mostly because they are the only ones who don't shout into the camera?
Also Colishaw is funny because he only wants to talk about hockey and nascar and everybody laughs
yes
I like Dan Patrick too, I usually only catch the last few hours of his show but he does a pretty entertaining job.
I like when MacMullan is on too, because half the time she's the only one making sense and doesn't need the retarded shtick bit.
i stand stand to watch PTI or Around the Horn
if i want to see a bunch of assholes shouting about meaningless shit ill go to the internet
He took his linemen out to dinner then went to a piano bar.
TMZ reported he was out past 1am curfew but that seems to be false.
That's all of it.
I thought he got suspended for being an asshole. Like he never tips or something. I don't know.
