I love how a player can fly in from Korea, get trough an open bracket of 256 players, murdering a fair few big names along the way, lose against a spectacularly good player in one of the final rounds of the tournament and someone says "He's not that good guys".
How many times do Incontrol and Tyler need to explain on state of the game how ridiculously hard it is to get good results on these events.
I really don't understand why people don't rush Hydras in ZVP
Like, Hydra Den w/Range is about the same cost as Burrow/Speed for roaches, and they shred Gateway units so much better, plus they can shoot up
Because if you don't finish P off before he has colossus, you auto-lose.
I'm not saying "get no roaches at all"
I'm saying "get Hydras w/range before roach speed/burrow"
Because as tanner pointed out, you cannot hold a 6 gate with hydra den first.
Going roach warren then hydra den is a classic example of slowing down your teching to be safe against early-/mid-game aggression. It also turns out that roaches tend to have more utility than hydras overall with burrow and tunneling claws (mostly because hydras are too slow).

no you just don't understand, huk lost
therefore
bad
(although i will admit huk's play is pretty slops at times)
So normally I jump on IdrA but he's correct there. HuK beats IdrA in two ways:
1) Early game/early mid game (~10 minute) all-ins
2) Mindgames.
And historically IdrA has always beaten HuK.
I think "macro game" would have been a more accurate description but the point stands. IdrA is much better than HuK.
HuK is actually not that great.
There's nothing wrong with saying IdrA is a better player, or pointing out that he usually has HuK's number. There is a huge problem with describing that scenario as a "real" game, as if somehow wins acquired by a different method only count as part of a win. IdrA has a huge mental block from discounting successful strategies that he personally doesn't want to use, and it makes him a weaker player.
It would be like a boxer trying to win on points complaining every time he got knocked out. Maybe he wins more games in the long run, but he's the only one getting punched in the head =P.

That was my attitude towards street hockey as a kid.
There is a little IdrA in all of us.
Well, he is a pretty small guy, so I guess he fits.
And it just got weird. Yeah.
I'm sure TLO will put him in his place. And what is this noise about them returning in 3 hrs? BOOO!
TLO's definitely the underdog in that match-up. His play is currently too inconsistent to beat idra straight up. His only hope is to steal two games using his typical unorthodox tactics.

Huk had that coming after his uncalled for game 3 BM, I think.
Don't you think that maybe Huk bowing out gracefully shows that he didn't intend for it to be BM? I still think he was just surprised that it happened, not that he was rubbing it in. We'll know better if Huk ever gives an interview about it.

I think people are misinterpreting that, even though HuK CAN be a total ass. He was telling IdrA that the army was hallucinated when IdrA replied with "fuck off", which is what caused HuK to say "LOL". He was laughing at IdrA's response, not the fact that he won.

thats generally how tlo approaches all matches and it works out for him
someone earlier quoted him saying something to the extent of "the further the game descends into chaos, the better for me"
and the kid does have amazing crisis management at times
edit: idra has been dishing it out for so long that he needs to man the fuck up and learn to take it sometimes

I don't think BM against IdrA really counts as BM. He brings it on himself with his attitude.
Idra's responses to the world are pretty funny:
Huk BM's Idra, Idra BM's Huk
Huk says gg gl, Idra still BM's Huk
People likes these two make everything so much more interesting as a spectator. :^:
Really looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow morning, Naniwa still hasn't lost a map (twenty something wins so far), Select looks great and Idra is playing well and matched with a TLO who's beaten Tyler and Drewbie.
TL's servers must hate Idra, everything the kid does generates like 20 pages of discussion.
Idra is a polarizing player. Nobody can question his mechanical skills, but his strategic thinking is clearly more debatable. The man also really needs a sports psychologist so that he stops being a whiny little bitch and stops folding to mental pressure.
Although we should keep in mind that these progamers aren't exactly rolling in cheddar like 'real' pro athletes.
You know, I really hope idra wins this tournament. Dude needs a win, and it just isn't fun for e-sports if the villain isn't actually winning any thing.
kedinik, certainly we're not in their heads and can't know for certain what the intent was, but I really think that if you watch the timing of when each line was said from the vod, it tends to support a more generous interpretation, rather than "lol u suk". I agree with Corkiness that the "lol" was a response to "fuck off"

The way I see it he simply made a joke, which Idra reacted rather predictably too. I mean, I'm generally rooting for Idra as it's nice having someone with personality, but sometimes he takes it too far.
But let's just agree to disagree, some people here are pretty dead set on excusing idra however stupid he makes himself look.
Huk had that coming after his uncalled for game 3 BM, I think.
Is it really BM to joke about someone ragequitting when faced with hallucinations?
It's BM to gloat at your opponent about winning the previous game, yes.
The game where Idra quit out without typing GG?
Only one of the players manned up and saluted the other player after having lost for a good game, wishing him luck in the tournament. And it wasn't the Gracken.

Funny Idra interview afterwards.
<3<3
That actually is pretty classy.
Because it's obviously not a real game unless Idra wins 0.o

But he has played a metric ton of games these last few days.
Just hoping he manages to find a good shape for nest season of code S.

That don't make no sense at all
So Huk beats Idra by either outplaying him with timing attacks or outplaying him overall
But Idra is still better
:rotate:
Being amazing at the game from the 12 minute mark onwards still leaves 0-12 minutes of you being bad

He was obviously just trying to throw IdrA on tilt with BM and I'd have told him to fuck off too.
Glad IdrA smashed him and rejected his half assed boy-I-look-stupid-now-that-IdrA-crushed-me olive branch.
His manner is a disgrace to the entire sport. He is as childish as he is good at the game, and Starcraft is the worse for it.
