I bet you guys are the same guys who say it'd be in bad taste to have a theme party called "The National Socialist Party"

I just have rape of nanjing parties where I toss a bunch of dolls in the air and I really cannot finish this joke because I already feel like a piece of shit
Basterds is acceptable, Hetalia is just. Disrespectful. I can't quite put into words why it puts such a horrendeous fucking taste in my mouth but it does.
I remember there actually being a debate at a con once as to whether or not wearing a Nazi/SS/Wehrmacht uniform was acceptable. And two arguments put forth as to why it was okay were: "Japan does it" and "That happened so long ago, get over it"
The following year there was an uptick in Inglorious Bastards cosplay.
Show up at my place with two bags of those Lindt 60% extra dark chocolate truffles and a bag of regular Starbursts and you'll be able to bribe her to let me come.

And the article is surprisingly meaty too. I didn't know you could say so much about bromance, or that male friendship even needed to be a thing.
Well to be fair, deep non-sexual friendships between men have existed since ancient times. David and Jonathan in the Old Testament is a famous example. I don't think there was really one word for it until someone invented "bromance", though.
The bromance page is in fact excellent, and has the requisite references to Gilgamesh and Enkidu, the original bros.

The funimation summaries for Baccano! episodes are also rather brilliant.
If only because they are extremely cryptic and only make sense when you watch the episode.

Tenchi's valiant efforts to scare the monster with his prepubescent voice and tiny ponytail somehow fail. Luckily, Tenchi's dad swears he will destroy the evil monster! His secret weapon is a tiny toy arrow reading "Traffic Safety." One shot on the forehead and the monster is destroyed. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. That's what really happened. I'm sorry. Dear God, I'm so sorry.
Also, I was watching FMA Brotherhood on my new TV. HD so gorgeous.

It somehow manages to not spoil anything about the episode and spoil everything.

I just did a search for this and came up with a hit from a chatlog from 2001.
I remembered it. Years ago, all of those Tenchi in Tokyo reviews from raam were compiled on a website, one that's since gone offline. But with the topic drifting back to descriptions of what happens in anime, I suddenly recalled those reviews, as well as one specific phrase from it, "smart in her brain!" So I did a Google Groups search on that and there it was.

also it is supposed to be a comedy, isn't it
This and a majority of the fanbase being either to young or too ignorant to understand the actual history to understand the hate towards the show.
Oh yeah.
Right.
That's why.
Why would I want to go to a Lyndon LaRouche hosted party?
I am going to find these people and I am going to hit them with sticks
also those people in my American history class group in high school who said of the people being brought off the concentration camp trains:
"...Like, why didn't they do something. There were, like, so many of them and only a few guards."
or
"If I was Sophie, I would have chosen real quick."
we should probably draw up a list before we head out

I should have known, but
There's a wikipedia article for bromance
but you got a boss you gotta ask first so

I had no idea homosocial was a word.

And the toy arrow defeating the monster was [vidurl=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a3uWaANhak#t=7m30s]one of the particularly goofy moments[/vidurl] of a goofy episode.
