By and large, yes. The positively charged beams have been shown to have massive effect on incorporeal undead. weakening them to a state where if not captured they will go dormant for a period of time.
against more physical undead, it's effects are largely marginal compared to say, a high powered laser, but there is still a notable effect.
As of yet we have not had an opportunity to study a "bogeyman". It is out opinion that is likely akin to a warlock, a still living person who has extended their life and gained super natural power. If he is found to be undead however, I will be the first to correct myself.
This is the best time to segue into Bludgeoning Weapons
These are some rather basic weapons, ranging from a simple club to the modestly more advanced mace. They don't take too much skill to use but with some practice are extremely deadly. Best served for skeletal undead, they are often just as useful against more fleshy undead as well. Unenchanted they are however useless against incorporeal undead. It largely is used to break bones, the key reason why skeletons fall to their might.
The two pictures are the most common and advised types. A bat being completely inconspicuous to own, and a mace generally one of the best types of blunt weapon.
Tactic advice: hit stuff with them. Seriously, they're not complicated, you don't even need to know which end is the pointy end.
Pick one that is light enough for you to easily carry around and swing a few times before getting tired. picking a heavy sledge hammer might be a great idea to bash some bones, but if you get into a fight and in two swings you're tired, you are about to be stabbed a whole bunch of times.

morning star is the best as it is a light weight, does a d8 and is both piercing and bludgeoning
These are your bread and butter for dealing with more fleshing forms of the undead. ripping apart their skin until they are little more then a rotted pile of gross flesh. They come is a very wide variety, ever since man figured out that sharp things cut skin they've been attaching them to sticks and trying to kill each other with said creations.
Often these are your best best for a non spear long reach weapon, giving you some advantage over the slower, dumber undead such as zombies.
While swords and machetes are often used, one must not count out the humble axe. While often simple and crude a well made axe can serve dual purpose as both a cutting weapon and a bludgeoning weapon if it only has one sharpened edge.
Once you are more dedicated to the trade seeking out pole arms such as a halberd and glaive are good ideas as undead such as wights are best served with a few feet between you.
Tactics advice: a dull bladed weapon is next to useless. keep that shiv sharp!
Weight behind a cutting tool is important, a sabre can be razor sharp, but it's cutting ability might be bested by a simple machete.
Serrated edges are a trap. Do not go near them. they are bound to get caught int he thing you are trying to kill.

I find that in case of Zombie uprising the best way to deal with it is to find something with staying power that can destroy numerous Zombies as once.
Some home made armor and modifications and the streets will run red with blood.
did you know: absolute monarchies and the entirety of a country being considered the property of one person arose as a defense mechanism against vampires

what is your advice re: crossing streams

it's like a rock-paper-scissors thing
has someone asked me if I'm a god y/n?
Then who beats ghosts, but loses to vampires?
generally not too harmless, but for the love of crap Don't Follow It.
ghostbusters!
That makes way to much sense for me to not have seen that.
Maces are easier to land a hit with, and put more weight behind.
Flails give you range, and if you have multiple heads on the flail, can hit a wider area.
oh wait does the crom whatever count as a mace
flails can also be used to get around shields with some skill.
Over all i woudl suggest a mace when you start out, they never really go out of style.
It's supposed to be a zombie apocalypse survival RPG
For an unfinished game, it was kind of cool
Can't wait until they implement the RPG system

And if they build up their army again, i motion we issue this as our anti armour gun:
Bless
Our
God
Can God bless himself?
It takes a higher power to bless, and if there is no higher power, how does he bless himself?
Top Men were put on the case.
this man knows what's up

You might also want to try and put in a new engine so it goes faster than 7 mph.
