I used to have a pretty big castle, custom built on one of those massive grey plates. You know, the ones that are about 1.5 times the size of a regular square baseplate. It had multi-layered defenses. Drawbridge made of thin plates so as to splinter inward under trauma, smashable portcullis, inner doors that had breakable door braces... and to top it all off chutes for tumbling rocks and flaming oil (handfuls of tiny 1x1 translucent orange plates). Once inside the courtyard you had to face the keep, protected by another set of doors. The keep featured three catapults - one for launching 2x2 bricks and two smaller ones for firing flaming projectiles (1x1 round bricks with flames stuck in them). Every day was a new siege, with lego knights and men-at-arms defending, and a horde of miscelleaneous minifigures attacking. A horde of "zombies" lead by skeleton knights. They had lots of ladders (riggings from my many pirate ships) a siege tower or two, and a ram for breaking down the gates. Then one day my grandfather accidentally kicked over the keep, causing grievous ruin to its seven towers. After that I was just like "fuck it" and took it apart, never to rebuild it. I mean, it was a cool setup, but it wasn't terribly appealing, visually. It was made of multicolored bricks.
One day I will build a new castle. I'll spend a cool $200 or so on the necessary parts, greys and dark greys and blacks, and make a truly massive fortress. I've sketched out a couple of concepts in the years since my multicolored castle as a boy and the size is going to be roughly 2-3 times as large. Within the walls there will be a stables, men's barracks, practice yard with jousting lane for tilting, a chapel (with stained glass windows) and a smithy. I actually get kinda excited about it every time I think about it because, damnit, it makes me feel like a kid again.
Edit: I still get out my legos from time to time just to test my building abilities. In the olden days my brother was in control of two factions in the kingdom - the Fright Knights and the Forestmen. I got... everything else. So a year or so ago I dusted off the boxes of legos and set about making a conjoined castle for both the Forestmen and the Fright Knights. It was designed to look like an old fortress gone half to ruin, and then restored (mostly with wooden pallisades and a new wooden half of the keep)
Well I'll be making the purchases through online sources over a long period of time, probably an ebay auction here or there, some shopping on www.bricklink.com. Scatter that 200 over a period of a few months, maybe half a year, and its much more manageable.

your = belonging to you
their = belonging to them

Well I think that just depends on the piece.
your = belonging to you
their = belonging to them
there = not here
they're = they are

TOO LATE, MOTHERFUCKER! I WIN!
your = belonging to you
their = belonging to them
