And yeah, Fearghaill is spot on. It's idiotic to say this is Irish Mulan when plenty of works that preceded Mulan also had strong female leads rebelling against a role society expected them to fill. That doesn't make it stale. It's all about how you tell the story, not what the story is. So many people get this completely backwards.

This movie is such a ripoff of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House

Yes!!
Lots of stories share the same plot/formula/whatever, but they're still different and enjoyable.

Okay, let me rephrase that, if it turns out this is just a Celtic Mulan, as many fear it to be, I will stand fast behind it all the same, because it's Pixar, and Pixar makes gems and shits gold.

The point is it can't be "Celtic Mulan" because that would imply that there was never a story previoius to Mulan in the history of time that was like Mulan.

I wish Merida had a more prominant limbal ring (the dark ring around the iris); up close it looks fine but by an arms distance it just looks too light. And a darker lash line would look good too, not like her lashes need to be long and curly or anything, just make those eyes stand out a bit better against such a fair complexion.
Also: no freckles anymore

Hmm. That seems a bit excessive, but what ev, silly me.
I never meant to make such an erroneous implication. My apologies.

Only if you are very lucky.
my personal problem is that I played too much Wrath of the Lich King and whatever the culture I should look up now is only reminding me of that game.
which took months of my life
e= still looking forward to this

the little scar on her cheek is so great.
From the fletching scraping across? I didn't see that before, but yeah, that's cool.

I kinda dig her red eyelashes
but I agree about the freckles, wish they were more prominent
she looks like a doll and that's almost triggering my phobia

They're turning it into a movie? AWESOME.
That's actually probably one of my favorite bits of short story animation out there, just love it from start to finish.

Or Hercules dubbed in Greek?
Fuck those books and their scary artwork that haunts me to this day.
I threw one of them behind the living room couch to make sure I never laid eyes upon its cover.
