As the clattering creatures burst through the undergrowth, Fosphil attempted to finish one with a quick swipe of his shield, only to leave himself open to a beating. Crouching low and spinning to face the other, less combustive skeleton, he used shield and spear to force the creature back toward it's allies
Tide of Iron vs Skeleton 2 AC = 20! hits for 12 damage, and Skeleton 2 is pushed to J9, while Fosphil shifts to K10
Skeleton2 is Marked.

One of the skeletons dashes forward past Fosphil to engage with Iados, but stumbles slightly over a tree root protruding from the ground, knocking it off balance. Meanwhile, the two skeleton archers in the back separate, one shooting at Fosphil, while the other follows the pointing hand of the remaining skeleton gesturing its staff towards Azael. These archers seem well-trained - if undead archers are trained - as their arrows strike their targets, causing some moderate wounds.

"Iados!" Lyssa calls, blasting the skeleton beside the Tiefling with holy starfire, after layering her divine magics of challenge and vulnerability upon the undead beast, "Retreat behind me! Approaching you then will only hurt it further!" She seems somewhat surprised as the thing suddenly falls apart in a heap at Iados's feet.
She then looks uneasily at the only skeleton yet to ask in the cover of the trees.
Move Action: Mark Skeleton 3

The remaining skeleton begins gesticulating with its staff, its assorted, mismatched teeth chattering rhythmically as its jawbone rises and falls. A dark shadowy aura forms around it, extending about 15 feet out in all directions. As the dark energy swirls about like a hurricane of black wisps with the skeleton in its eye, some of the black strands gather up into a ball and shoot up into the treetops before bursting above our heroes' heads and sending its black feathery fragments raining down upon him and the skeletons nearby. They sting where they touch skin, though Lyssa is the only one unaffected, whereas the others feel weaker and fatigued.

Seeing the skeleton before him about to make a dash toward the others, Fosphil lashed out, his spear dislodging a couple of ribs and forcing the creature to face him again.
Bombarded from on high with radiant magic, the skeletal mage again lifts its staff and points it at Azael. The remaining skeleton with a sword attempts to move towards Azael, but unable to disengage from Fosphil, it instead turns and swipes at him instead.

With crab-like grace Fosphil stalks around the tree trunk, suddenly lashing out with his shield and causing the skeleton to clatter backward. Advancing quickly after it, the wilden readied his spear.

Caleb grimaces as the armor pierces his scale armor, burying its barded head deep into his side.

Lyssa manoeuvers to negate the archer's tree cover with a clank, keeping her shield raised. She fires a lance of cold starlight from the symbol of her faith at the thing, striking it solidly in the chest.
"Move into cover," she urges Iados. "I will move in on the others once I am done with this one."

Again the dark energy underneath the staff-wielding skeleton shoots up into the canopy, this time raining down upon Fosphil and Caleb. The skeleton engaged with Fosphil is energized by the black wisps entwining with its bones, and it quickly sidesteps in front of Fosphil, distracting the wilden from guarding against the falling pinpricks, which Caleb deflects by raising his shield to the air.

With almost prescient reflexes, Fosphil strikes the undead almost before the opening in it's defences appears. Zig-zagging through the forest before it's bones could clatter to the ground, the wilden bashes the decrepit wizard with his shield before streaking through the undergrowth to strike at the (seemingly) final bony attacker.
Move to G6 Tide of Iron vs Mage AC = 29, hits for 8 damage, and Skeletal Mage is pushed to F4.
I'll elect not to shift after him, and instead I'll use an AP to Chaaarrrrge vs Archer 2 AC = 30, hits for 9 damage.
They both marked.
And, because why not, I'll use the Flesh Seeker weapon encounter power to get +1 to my next attack vs Archer 2.

Reeling from two sudden attacks, the first staff-wielding skeleton now redirects its staff from Azael to Fosphil. It seems rather unnecessary though, as the remaining skeleton in its party is already drawing its sword to swipe at Fosphil.

For Fosphil:
When you got close to the skeletal mage within its dark aura, you felt weakened (in the colloquial sense, not the technical game sense). You granted CA while you were in it.
Fosphil's maneuver gives Caleb just enough time to reach the mage. His strikes cuts deeply into the rip cage, forcing the mage to stumble. The blow gives his comrades a potential opening if the mage tries to move out of Caleb's reach.

While within 3 squares of the skeletal mage, you grant CA to undead also within the aura.
"Oh hell," says Iados as he speeds through the trees. He fires off a blast to try and free the new tree guy up, but it goes wide. "Oh hell."
Meanwhile Nathan sees the approaching undead, and lets lose a battle cry, rushing towards them. The battle cry was not the best idea, as he runs out of breath half way there and needs to pause.
The undead rush forth with an eerie silence, until they reach their targets. Then come the sounds of their slicing, piercing and ... magicking the Lorrumite defenders, badly several of them.
Ashley takes 1d8+611 damage, and is marked until EoNT!

The apparently nameless pikeman charged into the fray once more, pushing a skeleton that was threatening the villagers into his comrades for them to swarm. "HAVE AT THEM! I HAVE BONES TO PICK WITH THIS ONE!"
Azael was not in the mood for wits, however. The skeletons could tear the civilians apart! All she could do was soak one of the monsters with acid, in the hopes it would fall fast...

Now aware of the melee that had formed next to the caravan, Fosphil jabbed irritably at the remnants of the first group, hoping to at least keep them from regrouping. Mialee meanwhile leapt in front of her fellow lorrumites, lashing out at the skeleton threatening them with the desperation of their plight.
