I swear, the stuff he pulled, the comics he edited... Sometimes it makes me sad, though, Skull being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice, but still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.
The forum session began with disbelief and mockery - a link posted to a copy of an impossible file from a fictional setting on a disreputable torrent site. Not exactly the most auspicious conditions, and as a result uptake was slow. But some were more ready, perhaps always had been ready, to respond, and so it was that Skull Man became the first to tentatively leech, and then seed, the file.

It was to his initial excitement to see a quick rise in the number of fellow seeders - next came Crwth (Followed immediately by Beasteh), then Belruel, Mizuumi, Seriously, BlueBlue, Unintentional, the twins and many others, downloading either in fearful hope or solid scepticism with an aim to disproving the matter. Oddly enough the first to complete installation was one Spectre X, followed swiftly by Skull Man, who subsequently became his client player.
The meteor blistered into existence and wiped him from the earth in seconds. The thread exploded and became a mass of fear, anticipation and grief.
Somewhere in the Medium, in a vast iron valley spackled with flickering phantom crowns, a skeletal figure began to crawl from the wreckage of an alien crater.
