They added like six heroes or something so public games are probably horseshit because while all the normal heroes are pretty balanced, they lack a lot of internal testing so new heroes usually start off esepcially awesome/sucky.
They're pretty diligent about updating, though, I gotta say.
Especially since after 5.84 and Icefrog took over. He completely took the reins and took charge, setting up a beta testing crew, and internal balance team, and a development team. It's actually pretty amazing how many talent people they've gathered for a fucking warcraft 3 custom game. There are even a number of game conventions that are holding sanctioned dota tournaments, with cash prizes and everything.
I just played some single player with AI players and it seemed a little dull. I've seen much more dynamic games.
Like all games, most of the fun lies in competition. Pushing around bots is not really fun in any game. However, pulling off a triple kill Epicenter or what have you is fucking great. You just have to wade through the shitty community and steep learning curve to get there.

By the way. I actually enjoyed that game. Thanks for the help.

Hamlet will be Hamlet An ineffable tragedy of the human spirit that still resonates, even today.
The best thing about dota is teamwork.
With the exception of 4-5 heroes you can’t win most 1 on 1 fights, whoever is loosing will just run back to heal. It’s all about working together with your buds, covering each other’s backs while getting kills.
That said, I haven’t played a game with pubbies in months. Playing with a bunch of random scrubs that don’t listen at all and refuse to work together is irritating.
Playing with a bunch of close friends, and maybe have one bnetter fill in a final slot is great fun though.

unless there's an se channel
All right, gimmie a second, guys, I'm putting my girlfriend to bed.
:winky:
:winky:
Because I'm in channel PA on East, and it's really uncomfortably quiet even though there's 4 of you in the channel.
but there's still 4 dudes in the channel....?
You have AIM or anything?
I played that the other day, completely by chance. As soon as I saw "By Tossrock" I knew the map would scream quality.
I also bragged about how I knew the creator, and about how we hung out in all the same places.
None of that is true. Of course. Except that I played it and liked it.

It's all for the fans. And also me, cause I play it too sometimes.

Fun game - i'll be on to play again possibly tomorrow.
There is.
It's called put in your cd and install the game.
If you've got a Mac app that'll read disk images you could use those too. What I'm saying here is WC3 is fucking optimized for Intel macs.
I think mac has a built in one - when we lanned starcraft at the dorms - all the mac users needed was an iso and they could access the game.
Well that's handy
I might play something with everyone after this game is over.
play dota with meeeee
the guys I play with are off and on most of the time. Usually they are on during the week, but there's only two of us consistently.
A little too long and drawn out, that game.
ps my bnet name on East is a super secret name that you'll never guess
