Okay this isn't very fair... I got Shogun 2 yesterday for 50% off.
And it shows up today for 75% off? Way to screw the people who actually decide to take advantage of a deal... You guys think they'd refund me 25% or something?
So I picked up Sequence, and the way this game is advertised has me feeling like I should put out a small word of warning.
Firstly, the game is only compatible with Xbox 360 controllers. If you want to use anything else, you'll need a work around. Doable, but annoying.
However! Even if you get around that speed bump, something else I didn't learn until after purchase was that "you can play it with a dance pad" means "you can play it with a dance pad, if you don't mind holding a controller (or your keyboard) at the same time." The game can not be played with just a dance pad.
Ugh. I am made to be grump. Only two and a half dollars worth of grump, of course, but still grump. And you seemed so cool, Sequence.
It works with a logitech 510 in XInput mode as a fyi. Microsoft seems to have cornered the market with Xinput it seems.
is wrong with you people!? Don't give me that shit that you don't have the money for it. I'm doing you a goddam favor.
I have four copies of Terraria
I want to give away.
The first four people who email me in the next hour will get a copy of Terraria.

I have 61 people on my Steam list. All 59 of them who are from PA already have Terraria.
3 of them have written recommendations for it.

I'm using a Logitech F310, myself. It works fine with that, although it uses the XBox 360 driver anyway.

This was the first time I actually was involved in a significant way in the merry classiness of this place, and I gotta say, I need a better source of income because I want to be more classy and own my personal monocle and top hat. I want to give Skyrims too and not feel content with small games on people's wishlists
Thanks to the classy @DisruptedCapitalist for the copy of Terraria! I've been curious about this for awhile but never pulled the trigger because there wasn't a demo I'm a fun-hating asshole.
Yes you are, but the problem is solved, so you are forgiven.

Overall, 63% of my spending went to gifting, the remaining 37% for myself. I spent a bit more than I had anticipated spending, but not to the point where I'm going to commit seppuku before the CC bills come in.
This was the year where I really started buying stuff on Steam (maybe 8 or 9 games were in my Library at this time last year, it's 96 now), and my first holiday spent gifting to the awesome folks of PA. Had a good deal of fun getting coal and coupons too! So, yay, starting off the new year with good feelings!

I never picked it up, though it sits on my wishlist.
6 people on my friends list want it, so I'm sure you can find some interested people. [it being magicka]
Anyone here play Recettear, and have a few pointers? I'm just barely getting by, and now I'm half a day from defaulting on the loan. Every week I get the required money about halfway through the day it's due on, usually by selling one big item, so I can't really get anything good going. The strategy I've worked out is to do one or two dungeon runs a week, buy from the market as much as possible, buybuybuy whenever something goes blue, sellsellsell whenever it goes red. I feel like I'm getting by OK but the loan repayments are just too much for me to handle while also building up stock.
Also, kids have no money and can barely be bartered with. Does selling them cheap shit sort of level them up, meaning that they'll gradually have more and more money?

50 percent was the basic sale price Satsumomo. It was that for the past 2 weeks. It was 75 percent off a few days ago as a daily special (as were all Total War games). Today is a "best of" sale day, all repeats.

If you hit anyone's sweet spots deal wise you'll level them up so they have more cash (and it's also great exp). I'd say really, early on just focus on leveling up and trying to hit sweet spots, even if it means you're going to default on the loan. Don't stress out, let it come and if you fail it, you'll be way ahead for the next go.
Ah god dammit, I thought it was a special sale price for the holidays. It's weird I didn't see it on the 29th, I've been checking daily and it's a game I've been wanting for a while.

Oh dang! I just accepted 3 friend requests on Steam. I will on to my windows PC after my wife and I are done watching the premiere of Terra Nova (we are not especially good at watching recorded things in a timely manner). I can, however, give you an early thank you and a belated merry Christmas!

It's probably better to be going for combos to grind xp, rather than worrying too much about hitting sweet spots or money. Not meeting the loan isn't the end of the world
Since the sale ends soon, now's the time to grab your items that didn't have a daily sale, but are still discounted right now.
Here are a few off the top of my head (all less than $10):
*The Oddbox: -75% ($3.75 for collection of all four Oddworld games, normally $15--heck, Stranger's Wrath is normally $10 by itself)
*Ghostbusters: -50% ($5 now, normally $10)
*Longest Journey: -75% ($6.25 for collection of both games, normally $25)
*Saints Row 2: -50% ($7.50 now, normally $15) [Be sure to get IdolNinja's "Gentlemen of the Row" mod if you get this]
*Blade Kitten: -50% ($5 now, normally $10)
*Penumbra: -60% ($8 for collection of both games plus expansion, normally $20) [These are the precursors to Amnesia: the Dark Descent]
