Here is my terrible mspaint rendition of the reception of my secret santa gift...
I got home after a busy morning running around the city in the rain to find a mysterious package...
I grabbed a beer (as is my custom) and inspected the gift on the coffee table..
Quickly realising that this was my secret santa gift I ripped into it with child like christmas morning ferocity!
To find a book and note..
I haven't started reading the book yet but it seems to be the kind of high fantasy that I enjoy. The guy on the front is fucked though.
No two ways about it.
I think I'd prefer doing that again next year to photos actually!

Hearthjaw, that was so awesome I immediately looked you up on steam to give you something small. I was then shot down by your not-that-long list of games already containing everything I had a free copy of, and your lack of a wishlist from which to pull ideas ... I tried!
(Get on that and there may be goodies yet)
Just so there are no surprises, bunnies were assigned after the deadline while some gifts may (or may not) have been in extremely delayed (possibly never to arrive) transit. This has been to guarantee that no one is left waiting overly long for some kind of gifting to occur. Therefore, in very specific cases there may be people who will eventually receive (or have received) an extremely delayed gift from their original Santa who may also get bunnied.
There were just some very interesting cases of issues with the postal services around the globe this year. Next year, we'll add information about making sure to get some kind of a confirmation that you sent your package to avoid potential mishaps, but we can't do much about packages getting lost.

Aww thanks man, my steam list is what I call well cultivated, I'll think on the wish list thing, but don't feel obliged to gift me, I had a lot of fun drawing that
This letter warns me of the magnificence that awaits me! And mere_immortal, your handwriting is very easy to read - I can decipher LewieP's scrawl most of the time, yours is positively copperplate in comparison!
Then we found Super Scribblenauts!!!! I love Scribblenauts, but don't own this!
And if all of that wasn't enough, only the best chocolate in the world - Green and Black's assortment mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
mere_immortal, you are so kind and thoughtful. I absolutely love my gifts, they are far more than I deserve, and you have absolutely made my day/week/month/year. Thank you so much! xoxoxoxoxoxxoxox
Oh, and I didn't forget, here's the drawing. Paint is so much easier when its at the end of a brush rather than on the end of a mouse button!
Ah, but *this* Sherlock has extra bits in it that I've not seen - a commentary and an unseen episode! And tea tastes specially good when drunk out of a TARDIS with chocolate dipped in it!

No, not chocolate tea, that would be silly! Its chocolate dipped into tea - even better with Cadbury's fingers - nibble off both ends, insert in tea, use as a straw and eat very quickly. (although LewieP prefers Penguins)

Is it easy to drink out of a square mug? I've been eying the TARDIS for a while, but I'm afraid I'd spill tea in my lap.
Tea is easy to drink out of a square mug, and it has the added advantage that I can't accidentally dip my paintbrush in it like I normally do because of the lid! Result!!

So, my gift arrived last week. I've had a busy week but here it is. Pretty much the most amazing set of gifts anyone could ask for. Some things are worth waiting for!
My 2009 era laptop is getting a bit old, so the timing on this couldnt be better. This is two years in a row I've been actively browsing for something and received it
Dont look if you dont want to be insanely jealous.
What do you see? A Core i5, a bluray player, 16 gigs of RAM, a TX750 power supply, a Radeon HD 6850, an OCZ Vertex120gb SSD a copy of DiRT3 and a crapload of AWESOME snacks and candy (most not pictured, I ate them and they were delicious.
Santa, whoever you are, you're fucking amazing. You've made my year.
Every time the secret santa thread comes around, I find myself thinking at some point "That's it. That's the top. That's the absolute limit of generosity for message board friends."
And then this belief is blown straight to hell the next year.
That's just wonderful! I love PA. when I tell my friends about us, they think we're a bunch of crazy people, but they're just plain wrong. PA peeps are awesome.

Crazy and awesome aren't mutually exclusive.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust
hmm...

I also enjoyed how they advertised the lid as an amazing feature of the mug.

edit: and considering the production time of each series, I doubt the commentary will shed much light on anything I actually want to know.
