Oh my god, this looks like a hilariously bad idea. The whole assassin's creed thing set in the american revolution is such a horrible clash thematically it's almost beautiful.
I've been wanting a Sengoku Basara type game set in the American Revolution, so I'm kinda excited about another genre doing something silly with it.
Oh man, I un-ironically love this movie. I was working at The Theatre when this movie came out, and *no one* knew this was the end. But it had motherfucking Edward in it, so it was estimated to be our #1 movie that week and be really super busy.
So Thursday comes around, and I get a text from another projectionist. "SKIP TO THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF REMEMBER ME!"
It was in a theatre that wasn't playing anything at the moment, so I did.
Cue 15 minutes of calling all of the staff into the theatre so I could constantly replay it and laugh our collective asses off at the trolling that was about to happen.
SURE ENOUGH, Friday night when that first sold show was getting out, I was right at that door to watch the sobbing faces of all of the little twilight fans. Their sadness brought me so much joy.
They love to sing like this when it's raining. Their song combined with the rain makes me so blissfully sleepy.
Whooooa.
I want those in my neighborhood.
They're a little more famous (unfairly so) for being prodigious divebombers of kids on bikes, motherfuckers have no fear, they never fly away when you walk near them either, they just stand their ground and are like "What? Bring it"

But even after listing off all of the parallels (and there are a lot), Battle Royale doesn't own the thunderdome (even if BR did have the brilliant idea to put kids in it). The Japanese original owes a debt of gratitude to Lord of the Flies, Mad Max, The Running Man — and oh yeah, the Romans, who started Bread and Circuses, before there were even movies. There is no such thing as an original idea in Hollywood, and lets not forget The Hunger Games takes place in a post apocalyptic landscape with cat people. Different.

Everyone in my dorm had to stay in the basement for an hour and a half, so I didn't see it (although, that's probably a very good thing).
It was so odd. The weather was bright and beautiful, and then went straight to hell in a moment.

I swear we're the luckiest part of Georgia sometimes (in terms of weather. We're the unluckiest in terms of unemployment)
