$20 a plate is definitely more than any chain around here costs.
Would you mind doing a breakdown?
What would an Entree, soda, tax and tip cost?
Standard burger at local chain (BJ's is the one I picked) $8.50, soda I never get soda so I have no idea what they charge for it, let's say $2? So, $10.50, tax is 10%, lets assume 15% tip: ~$13.25
What about fries?!
Fires are included in that price, if memory serves.
I am dubious. This is fast food pricing. This food is restaurant quality?
that is a p normal price at a 'real' restaurant. burgers are often the cheapest non-breakfast food on a menu.
i'd be embarrassed to order alcohol at a chain restaurant.
Why?
well ok let me go down the list
1) the bartenders are almost always shit
2) it's something you would do, which makes it inherently terrible
3) drinking alcohol at a chain restaurant makes it sound a little too much like it's your neighborhood spot/bar where you go to have some drinks with 'the guys' and it's terrible imagery
meh?
nothing wrong with getting beer at chili's
i mean
that's what you get
at chili's
don't you weigh in on this you yuppie, go get a quasedilla with bone marrow
whatever man i grew up on chili's and the 99, the best deal in town

Me and the bloomin' onion go way back.
I eat all kinds of chain shit when I go back to North Carolina... there is just very little reason to do so where we live, because you can't throw a rock without hitting an establishment that costs roughly the same and tastes a hell of a lot better.

Yeah, I haven't figured out what this 20 dollars you are talking about is. At a local "chain" restaurant we go to with an appetizer, coke for my mom and dad and a tea for me lunch totals usually about 35 with tip.
That is a sit down restaurant with good food and an appetizer to split. Hell Village Inn near me usually is about 33 bucks for 3 people. I think you East Coasters are screwed again with money and food cost.
The 99 has takeout now. Which is basically hoping the supermarket will have something decent pre-made is too risky, I'm way too lazy to make something myself and I don't want something as greasy as takeout.

sweet. one thing that is always a concern for online games: has there been any info about how you go about finding people for group content? Cause the one thing that would kill this game for me would be doing what those dipshits did with TOR and just have a LFG channel and say "work it out yourselves plebs".

yeah that's p crazy to me
i mean, working it back, if you're tipping normally that's like 30 bucks before
assuming the tea and two sodas come to 4.50, the appetizer split for 3 people (say, nachos or sliders or whatever) is 6 or 7 bucks. let's say 11 bucks, now. 19 to go.
3 entrees for 19 bucks?
typically chain restaurants aren't that cheap
I thought people were saying all along "$20 per person". Not like $20 total.

i think it is close to 20 per person, easily. a soda, your part of the appetizer, an entree, your part of the tip... yes. at least 20 unless you only get water and a burger and no appetizer and tip the minimum.

I don't know actually. There have been a few references to a group finding tool but I haven't read anything specific about it. I do agree that a matchmaking service would be good to have but at least if there isn't one the procedure won't be as complicated as other games since any party composition can complete a dungeon.

Ultimately ITT, just because it's technically possible to order the cheapest thing on the menu, drink tap water, and tip 15% in a state with no sales tax doesn't mean that $20 for a meal is straight up baller.

I am going to go to Taco Bell while I'm in Cali this weekend.
Appetizer (sometimes): $9.00
Entrees: $21.00
Entrees: 18.00
Drinks: 2.50 x2
Sub Total:$45.00
Tax: 3.15
Tip: 9.00
Total: 57.15
For two people. No Alcohol. Lots of leftovers (especially now)
NOW. I COULD be disingenuous and list two burgers and say "herp derp, see not very expensive"
But that is a very MEDIAN meal ticket for outback.
So again
$20
wtf.
