Superman vs Goku: Who would win??
Posts

Who could like Goku more
A terrible person, that's who
a monster
but my opinions are sturdily based on prior assumptions
that makes me right
wrong
ohfuckingshitgoddamnmother
aiwahrhjseagt
he was created as a socialist hero and that is the way he should be
a man of the people
there is a reason why the last image of All-Star Superman is him labouring
When Superman gets too powerful, the writers take away powers, or come up with weaknesses. Goku retires to another realm because he beat everybody.
yes
especially the first part
He has written some really good stuff
But yeah he clearly is a crazy misogynist asshole
it's his wolverine mini, actually
But my ironic favorite is batman/spawn
Are we talking about Frank Miller or Dave Sim now
or John Byrne
Lots of guys really
I feel like that is what would really happen
Too late buddy, we already got our lynchin' ropes ready
Steaaaaaaam
I'll qualify this by saying I haven't read any Byrne stuff since I was a kid so I'm going off old memories.
Byrne a crazy asshole, yes. Misogynist, no.
Dude turned Sue Storm and She-Hulk into actual female super heores people cared about.
like superman would after he got beat up
i get the whole fighting crooked businessmen and politicians part
but how does demolishing run-down tenements solve anything
He also likened the theft of intellectual property to rape, and called Jessica Alba a hooker
And wrote a comic where Superman was mind controlled into doing a porno with Big Barda
So maybe he's just crazy
i think it's because of slum lords keeping people there
presumably new ones in decent condition are supposed to replace them
oh, well that makes a lot more sense
i was thinking it was superman's warped way of trying to beautify the city and bring in more real estate value
*CRASH*

As Munch once said, "John Byrne never wrote a fictional woman he didn't want to grab by the throat and lift off the ground" (paraphrased somewhat, but you get the gist)
Otherwise, it's Superman all the way.
I will take Munch's word.
I guess when your twelve years old reading his FF run you don't really see stuff like that.
Byrne wrote a lot of good stuff, his FF was great, his West Coast Avengers (with some horrible, glaring exceptions like turning the Vision into an awful bland colourless robot) were pretty cool, he worked on the X-Men for years with Claremont and was heavily involved in the storytelling on that book, he wrote She-Hulk and as has been said, he made Sue Storm and She-Hulk into the characters that a lot of fans love today.
It's just that he also was a misogynist at times as well (though he kind of rolled from one extreme to the other, weirdly enough). And to be fair, he was not alone in that by any stretch.
i guess having an eagle eye perspective of the world will alienate you from what's really going on
