I mean I'm still getting it because they make fun stuff, but they really needed that to be out last year.
Yeah I would have bought it, but not now.
I don't see why not, $20 for a bit of Different Diablo seems like a decent price. Though I guess these games do kind of expand to fill the space you've got... poor guys.
Languages evolve. "Funner" and "funnest" are words. Deal with it.
Awesome I am totally willing to agree if you can show me examples in popular media and text, which I can totally do with the accepted usage of "ironic".
Good job being flakey mcflakerson from flakesville, FL (flakeida) mr "yeah coming tonight OH WAIT GW2 BETA also i can't register very well for dis event but i'll see you this afternoon/tomorrow then never turns up"!
a thousand dollars to the man who finds me the closest (real, non-nerd word) synonym to 'grok'
begin, peasants
grok, get the picture, comprehend, savvy, dig, grasp, compass, apprehend, understand.
'grasp' is probably the closest to it i've seen
but grok has such strong connotations, it's like 'to completely understand and be one with something', right
like, 'it took me thirty or forty blowjobs to really know how porn stars felt' or 'to really grasp how porn stars felt' or 'to really empathize with the feelings of porn stars'
they all seem weaker than grok
but
i refuse to use this shitty nerd word, even though it seems useful

I bet you can't.
Well, there's a difference. We give Alanis Morisette shit because she writes horrible songs.

Am I supposed to disagree with you? Most popular music has shitty lyrics.

Not to me, personally. Grok carries no special connotations of strength of meaning. Modifiers like truly, really, etc can be added to it just as easily. Truly understand conveys the idea clearly and concisely to me. Personally.
I guess my questions are
*) why is it a shitty word, if it seems useful?
*) what makes it a nerd word? It's in the OED, and I believe Stranger in a Strange Land had a wider audience than nerds / geeks / hippies.
oh, I like ken.

So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.

The biggest reason grok sounds like a nerd word to me is it sounds similar to shit like frack or whatever shitty fake curses they put into sci-fi shows
People who use that kind of language as a replacement for good, honest curses need to be executed

But grok isn't a curse word so your comparison is flimsy

I hope you grok my meaning, motherfucker.
What exciting nerd bait will I find next?

It's that hook son.

That's why I went with gestalt.
It is very large. Thank god it has a handle.
I do not think that even with a saw, I am going to be able to get my desk to hold both of my monitors. :bz
That is a sad, first-world bee.
What about "ken" as in the Scots usage?
*) why is it a shitty word, if it seems useful?
*) what makes it a nerd word? It's in the OED, and I believe Stranger in a Strange Land had a wider audience than nerds / geeks / hippies.
oh, I like ken.
Seeing as how it is one of the Nac Mac Feegle's favorite words in Terry Pratchett's books. I hope he chooses this word over grok.
For the delicious IRONY.
Nerd bait? Try "human bait".
If a human is the greatest prey in the world
and you successfully bait one
does that make you a master baiter?
You put one of them vertical, or both of them. Would that make em fit?
Meh.
Less than useful.
I just play games on mine man, I don't need to launch the space shuttle.

It's gorram flimsy IMO.
He went on to add another row of three to make a 3x3 array.
WHAT IS THE POINT THOUGH!
Think of all that wasted electricity.
Isn't that what we normally do?
I have photo evidence too, I have to extract it from my roommate's phone.
