Shockwave is just a giant hovering space gun
why does he even have a trigger in giant space gun mode? pretty sure megatron shrank down so he could be used to shoot by his henches
he could just give megs a new altmode when he upgrades him
but no, he makes him a different gun and then just makes another guy into a ship for him
transformers don't work like that

G1 shockwave sees the benefits (that presumably exist) of turning into a fucking laser gun and decides to turn into a giant flying one so he doesn't have to rely on goddamned starscream or whoever to actually shoot him

you're in luck, what with generations shockwave and shockwave popping up in prime
1. Soundwave is a goddamn boss. He takes on like half a dozen Autobots in hand to hand combat before Ironhide knocks him down.
2. When Megatron tells Starscream to "use his imagination" when finding a new source of energy, he really seems to be overtly pointing out that power station down the road a bit.
3. Cliffjumper is a really sucky shot.
4. The first roll call where Jazz tells everyone to form up and transform still gives me the shivers.
5. Spike totally punches like a little bitch when he tries to get Rumble off his dad.
6. It's pretty awesome how Megatron shuts Starscream down after pretty much every single assertion he makes.
7. Optimus Prime is thwarted time and time again by Soundwave's cassettes.
8. Prime totally does the talk... really... slow... and gesture... a lot type of speech when you're either speaking to someone who's really dumb or doesn't speak your language very well.
9. Actually, the Decepticon cassettes are considerably more effective than the other Decepticons put together.

They were in G1 as well... UK stuff, at least. Divebomb was what Swoop used to be known as until a certain Predacon defeated him and took the name for himself (a throwback to the original name for Swoop, if memory serves).
