How is the PC version of L.A. Noire? I saw that the complete version is only $7.50 on Steam right now, so I did some quick searches and found old forum posts elsewhere saying the PC port is awful, but then I read that the "complete edition" came out with some changes, so I don't know how it stands now. Anyone know if it's a tolerable piece of software? (i.e. no arduous troubleshooting just to get it to run the first time, intrusive DRM, those kinds of things.)
I don't remember having any real issues with it.

Okay. Zeboyd Double Pack to the first person to PM the real spelling of my last name.
So, I need a Steam game to test the gaming rig I just built for myself. I'd prefer to keep it under $50 if possible. I'd like something that'll really stress it on Ultra settings. Suggestions?

Witcher 2, specifically the "ubersampling" option that seems designed to crush current PC hardware and hear the lamentations of your GPU.
Is there some trick I can pull to make it run at more than ~5fps? I mean, I have a pretty fucking beefy computers, i5-2500k, 8GB ram, HD6870, using less than 20% of my CPU power, blahblahblah.
This is choppy as fuck. Does it just not like me having dual monitors?

Tribes Ascend is great, played for a couple of hours, and I don't usually do Multiplayer FPSes.Really like what they've done with skiing.
Tempted by Avernum, but the sale is coming and I already have Avernum 4-6 and Avadon sitting in my backlog.
Is there any real benefit to playing Avernum 1 before 4-6?
avernum 1-3 are quite a bit different than 4-6 since they are based off the old exile games, instead of being new content. 3 is generally considered the best, but I'm partial to 2. all of them are self contained stories with little catch up sections at the start.

Edit: My dog has been whining all afternoon. That's how we know the sale is imminent, right?
I really should double check my wish list, since people keep reminding me. Never can have enough games.

Hint. It's next to josh.

That classy fellow, Iolo gifted me PA:RSPoD3 and now I need to find a good home for CStW and BoDVII (and finish RSPoD2).
Also... it appears I need to find some good homes for quite a few games. I should probably figure this Steamgifts thing out.

So much ninja gifting today!
It has started the Thursday before two years in a row.
This man speaks the truth, it's PC FPS of a very high calibre
What date did the Cubemen dude(s) say it was starting?
July 12 I think is what he said.
