what are the hallmarks of a genuine pokemon design? what about being a fan design precludes a design from being good? I would take a hundred different fan designs before a mr mime or jynx or kyogre or lucario

Use of design elements from prior gens without understanding how they worked in that context
It's like the billion pikachu knockoffs game freak came up with, reusing aspects and details but not making them actually look ok
