I would not normally go see Beyond the Lights, because I am definitely not the target audience, but damn if it wasn't pretty good, if we spot it the whole romantic movie framework. Minnie Driver was really good, Danny Glover is Danny Fucking Glover (who remains too old for this shit), and I instantly had a crush on the terrifyingly-named-but-angel-voiced Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Nate Parker appears to have been whittled from a block of mahogany, but I'm given to understand (from my female friend, who dragged me to the movie) that mahogany-whittled males of the species are desirable mates.
I rolled my eyes when the couple was separated by manufactured drama at the end of the second act (is that even a spoiler? It happens in every single pure romance I've seen...), but it was okay, because it meant more time for Minnie Driver & Donald Glover.
So in reading stuff on Snowpiercer I learned that reading things about Snowpiercer is an exercise in frustration
Because apparently if you like the movie you're a sheep who was swayed by hype on an objectively bad movie, and if you didn't like it you're just a contrarian looking for attention
I hated it but I'm perfectly ok with people liking it. Opinions.

I'm introducing my roommate to Se7en on Netflix.
He seems hopeful that the film might end on a positive note.
Watched Birdman while I was in NYC over the weekend
Uh
It's a weird feeling, knowing that I'm going to have to watch it again and definitely give a lot more thought to all the ideas it's trying to get across but also immediately knowing that I loved what I just saw regardless

Birdman is pretty goddamn great
This is pretty much how I feel about Interstellar.
The fake newspaper pages had me laughing pretty hard.
The bit at the end with the rebate card was my favourite.

Because otherwise people will misinterpret what you're saying and turn that into the issue, yes.
Carry that torch as hard as you can buddy
No, I just think that "Hollywood's waking up to the idea that it's been pandering to men for too long" is the more important message to take from what he said, than "whoah if you remove the words 'female stuff' from the context of everything else he was saying, it sounds kinda bad".

He reads too deeply into things sometimes.
But he figured there would be more overt action than actually turned up because trailer.
I kinda figured this too, but Christoph Waltz both put that notion to bed and made sure I didn't care.
fuck
I think it was made at just the right time: Right before Reality TV became a thing.
And it does a great job of underlining how much of a misnomer that term is.
My Mom only watches cop movies, everything else is dumb.
My brothers favorite movie is Dracula 2000
DRACULA 2000!
I'm not saying Les Mis was a great movie, but that complaint is just ridiculous.
That was another one my teenage self liked because 2deep4U.
Gyllenhaal is so good
Steam
This "Stars War" contains too many parts set in outer space!
I liked Les Mis, but man I do not see how Russel Crowe was allowed to be in it.

Speaking of which, Hugo was a really good movie.
The fake newspaper pages had me laughing pretty hard.
True story:
I went to with a friend to see Dracula 2000 at the theater. However, we couldn't get in because my friend was only 15 at the time.
So we settled for seeing another movie.
Cast Away.
I was going to joke about how it didn't have any nudity, then I remembered that it very famously starts with nudity.

It's like a watching an opera when action movies are playing acoustic sets at the student union.

I'm sorry that you disagree.
