From now until the end of November has the largest collection of quality games EVER released within such a short time span, to the best of my recollection. I was making a list of games to go pre-order at the local EB_Stop, and I was floored that I was going to be throwing down well over 850 bucks. O_o
PC: Crysis Call of Duty 4 Hellgate: London Unreal Tournament III
Wii: Super Mario Galaxies Links X-bow training RE: Umrella Chronicles Mario & Sonic Guitar Hero III
360: Mass Effect Assassin's Creed Army of Two Rock Band Beautiful Katamari
The sad/good thing is, I really can't trim down that list, they're all top tier highly anticipated games. I'm really, truly lucky that I recently got a new job and can afford the splurge (barely), but what about everyone else? What's on your "must buy" list for the next 30-40 days? Are you going to go nuts like I am and buy them all on release, buy them throughout 08' as money and time permits, or painfully cut your list down to the ones you hold most dear? Also, how in the hell are YOU going to find time to play them all?
PS: Sorry if the thread topic is a duplicate, I know this topic has been ongoing in other threads, but I didn't notice any central thread of discussion.
DS:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Ontamarama
Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Mario Party DS
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
November would have way way more expensive for me if I had a Wii on top of a 360. But the cost of both Assassins Creed and Mass Effect isn't exactly a soft blow to my wallet either.
FFXII: Revenant Wings and apparently Megaman ZX: Advent, since it's been delayed. Those the only certainties, however I'd really like to get Mario. I'm just not sure if the funds will allow.
DQM:J is also a possibility, but I hate the monster designs.
I only have a PC, Wii, and a DS, so no 360 loving for me. I'm definitely getting Mario, and RE:UC will be a "wait 'til bargain bin," and I'll wait for a price drop with GHIII. That's probably it, actually, my wallet will be fine.
I do have my eye on Zack and Wiki later this week, reviews pending.
Edit: I'm also interested in Hellgate: London, but for whatever reason I just don't feel a need to get it this year. Eh.
If I decide to buy all the games I want, it shapes up like this:
Rock Band
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Folklore
Assassin's Creed
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Haze
I'm hoping to put off at least one or two of them for Christmas so I won't have to buy them... 'cause I suppose I should be saving up to pay the other half of my tuition. Ah well!

I only need worry about Rock Band if it comes out for PS2 and my GH1 guitar will work with it.
Otherwise, I'll have to pass.

The only game I'm looking forward to is Mass Effect. If it plays well and plays for the 35+ hours that they've stated it is, I'm looking at an estimated 140 hours of gameplay. That should hold me over until I decide to pick up something else.
What really sucks is I'm stuck with jury duty the first week of November,so I'll be short a weeks pay, which means I'll be pushing it for just Rock Band and Mass Effect
COD4 $60
Super Mario Galaxy $50
Assassin's Creed $60
Mass Effect $60
Rock Band $170 - $20 (GH2 guitar trade in) = $150
Maybe Link's Crossbow Training $25
Depends on what the Australian multiplayer scene for Crysis/CoD 4/UT3 are like. If any of them are good enough to pull me away from TF2 then I'll be getting that particular game
November hurts. Luckily my job has been nothing but constant overtime for the past few months so I'm prepared!
Must-have:
Sam & Max Season 2
Rock Band
Unreal Tournament 3
Trauma Center 2
Assassin's Creed
LifeSigns (if it's not just another damn temp date)
Maybe Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Ontamarama depending on reviews.
Just Mass Effect, LE if I can find it somewhere that's not online. CoD4 and Assassin's Creed fall onto my GameFly list. Rock Band is just too damn expensive for me right now.
I have a great set of friends and family, so as long as I can wait until Christmas, I can probably get most of what I want then. I'll be getting Mario Galaxy, though, and maybe the Zapper with Crossbow Training. Other than that, I'll be able to hold off, I'm sure.

And now I cry over my lack of a 360.
In November (in order of importance):
Rock Band (gah $200 in Canada probably)
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Call of Duty 4
I think that's quite enough money to splurge. I'll probably hold off on Mass Effect and Call of Duty 4 until I'm done with the others too.
Mario Galaxy ($50)
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles ($50)
Links Crossbow Training ($25)
Everything else is going to have to wait .
It's going to be hard resisting Revenant Wings though. I'd really like CoD4, but that is out of the question for the time being.
I'm not planning on getting anything but Mass Effect.
And Phoenix Wright 3, shoot.
And I'm considering getting Hellgate.
I want GH3 strictly for the music, but no Harmonix and awful character designs leave me hesitant.
I do have my eye on Zack and Wiki later this week, reviews pending.

Do... Re... Mi... So... Fa.... Do... Re.... Do...
Forget it...
Otherwise, I'll have to pass.
Rock Band
Mass Effect(Already payed off, thankfully.)
Assassin's Creed
Super Mario Galaxy
It wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for Rock Band's crazy price tag.
360:
COD 4
Rock Band
Wii:
Super Mario Galaxy
RE: Umbrella Chronicles
PS2:
Fire Pro Wrestling
DS:
Contra 4
Tumblr | Twitter | Twitch | Pinny Arcade Lanyard
[3DS] 3394-3901-4002 | [Xbox/Steam] Redfield85
PSP
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Phoenix Wright 3
Disgaea PSP
Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles
I should be good for the year after this monster.
Also, OP needs Fire Emblem
Damn, I wanted to be the first. :l
Assassin's Creed for sure.
Compared to last year, this is easy.
Why? well. If I spend more then that I will be eating more ramen then I care to.
WTF, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on PSP?
EDIT: Oh wait, I'm stupid. You're buying a PSP?
Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004 are being considered UT2.
Super Mario Galaxy $50
Assassin's Creed $60
Mass Effect $60
Rock Band $170 - $20 (GH2 guitar trade in) = $150
Maybe Link's Crossbow Training $25
So $380 to $405
Guitar Hero 3 - $100
$270 on two games. Luckily they're already paid off. Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed will have to wait, however.
Urahonky: Hellgate London + founders = $200? What are founders? And you're really prepared to pay $200 for an MMORPG?
Must-have:
Sam & Max Season 2
Rock Band
Unreal Tournament 3
Trauma Center 2
Assassin's Creed
LifeSigns (if it's not just another damn temp date)
Maybe Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Ontamarama depending on reviews.
Mass Effect ( $64.80)
Link's Crossbow Training ( $27)
Total: $145.91
Waiting on reviews of Assassin's Creed and Umbrella Chronicles and anything else coming out will have to wait till later.
Probably: Assassin's Creed.
Maybe: Link's Crossbow Training, Time Crisis 4.
One question. Is Mario Party DS online?
