So I just read TNA does better DVR numbers than WWE.
How
Because you can also watch WWE on Hulu and the WWE Network?
Here's what I read on ROH's message board in the TNA section, they quoted Meltzer
A lot of people in recent years have canceled highly rated wrestling shows (NXT on Syfy, Ion with Main Event, WGN, Destination America, Spike) because of issues with selling ads and costs vs. revenues. He (POP TV's president) claimed overnight ratings don’t matter anymore because of DVR viewership. There is something to that to a point, because for whatever reason, TNA does, on a percentage basis, far better than WWE (but also far worse than Lucha Underground and UFC non-live programming) when it comes to DVR viewership.
So they have a better percentage basis whatever that means.
the wrestling scene in countdown is amazing, because it's this bizarre hodgepodge of footage
first, they show a montage of people getting ready to perform, which includes Tag Team Champions The Usos and Dean Ambrose in his shield gear, as well as D-Bry wearing his furry boots, which places it somewhere after WM30 but before the shield breakup
THEN, we see clips of The New Day facing The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension in a triple threat
then Brock Lesnar making his entrance
then a shot of the titantron, at which point we learn this is happening during the royal rumble?????
then dolph ziggler is chasing a guy through the rafters, and we see the arena below is entirely empty
Might be because I'm on my phone, but I couldn't make out all of that Owens clip. What was he going to do about people chanting "USA" at two Canadians in the ring? And what did he say at the end?
Edit: Oh, I see -- he said he was going to make them do it, and he did.
I wonder if he did anything special to elicit that.

So Steve Austin wasn't a big fan of the Flair segment last week
“[Ric Flair] spilled the beans as soon as he went out there. He had only been talking 10 to 15 seconds and I said, ‘oh, he’s getting fired or she’s going to kick him out of the damn ring’ and that’s exactly what happened. And then, man, that was a pretty rowdy crowd and she got lost. And I love Charlotte. She’s a talented female. She’s still green, but she [has] got so much potential. And she carries herself [like a star]. When she enters that damn arena, everybody comes to their feet when they hit that music. It’s a moment. We’ll see what happens with the matches that she’s in, but she’s a special one too. But that was just a real bad [segment] and that thing, Ric kind of spilled the beans. Whoever wrote that, and you know Ric is one of the best promos in the history of the [professional wrestling] business and you don’t writing [anything] for Ric Flair. Just let him go out there and do his thing. But, so he’s going out there and he’s trying to memorize this script that someone wrote him and he spilled the beans, started tripping all over himself, and then, it only got worse from there. And then, Charlotte’s trying to recoup and she gets lost a couple of times and goes at the crowd and then kind of misspeaks and then it was extremely awkward and it was hard to watch because I’m such a fan of the Flairs.”

austin went on to say
now, let me tell y'all about this service they got called stamps dot com!
I would really, really like to get Vince in some sort of a debate to argue the merits of not overly scripted promos.
That shit has to stop eventually and I'd rather not wait till he's gone.
it's the type of thing you can see feeding on itself
he gives them a script, they aren't quite actors and they probably get like an hour with the full thing to learn it so they fumble it, and this proves to vince that they can't be trusted to handle shit on their own so he takes even more control
especially for a segment like that that's moving one of their really big stars (idk numbers or how shit sells but she's clearly one of the ten people you'd pick as the future, if not top 5) along in storyline BIG time like this.
need a clean break and for them to just accept a rough road if it pops up but I think it'd be for the best in the long run.
austin's right about basically everything there (although I don't think ric flair is a good enough promo to go off script anymore) but BOY does the phrase "talented female" make me recoil about 5 and a half feet away from my computer screen

It does seem like the kind of thing one would tip their fedora at

I'm inclined to defend Austin in as much as I definitely don't think he meant to diminish her or her accomplishments but yeah.

Because WWE stuff is more about watching live.

Yes. That chase scene is the highlight of the movie and BONKERS.

then the next shot, it's full of people

I don't think I'll see a better thing this week than that Kevin Owens clip.
You should see Countdown.

Probably yeah
As long as he doesn't win, I'm super ok with that.
I think there's a good chance sadly.
