The Fourth Edition of Dungeons and Dragons is about to be unleashed on this tender young world, and some devoted or lucky few will have the honor of
being eaten first.
So it begins...

This thread is for out-of-character communication, clarification, and comments. Before the thread at large is underway, would the participants please all make one single "Master Post" for character information, background, et cetera. This "master post" can be updated as needed for various bits of information, so that we don't need to go running around looking for things.
I will update this post as needed, check on it periodically.

This thread will contain spoilers, people. You have been warned.

Have fun.
Or else!

Update: Please note that all characters trained together with this one treasure hunter dude, and you start off hunting his ass down because you're worried. I'll make that sound prettier in the IC thread.

Tesska was left an orphan at an early age, and was taken into a temple of Bahamut to be taught by the priests there. Showing an aptitude for the combat arts, she was blessed to become a Paladin of Bahamut, leaving the cloister to protect those who could not protect themselves. She lives to protect innocents and aid those in misfortune, using her capabilities in the service of 'good.' Tesska harbors a particular dislike for goblinoids, as she believes them to be too small-minded and evil to ever see the holy truth of the Platinum Dragon.

A born knave through and through Rohyo has lived most of his life on the streets in a larger settlement. There he thrived as a pickpocket and general scamp. That is until the day he went for the Big Score, a score that was somebody else's. He has decided to take a vacation to the frontier lands with hopes of making enough money and fame to return to the Big City and make good. (Through revenge or repayment he hasn't decided as of yet.) Given the opportunity he has decided to recast himself as a "Propa Gentleman".
I hate writing appearances. Think Badger from Firefly but obviously shorter.

Chivis was born in the small village of Nightwood and lived there for most of his childhood, until he was around twenty seven. He was recruited to the church of bahamut by a travelling cleric, a member of the pilgrim order of clerics known as the shining scale and trained under him to become the man he is today. He has an abiding hatred of those who serve tiamat and any who would cross the servants and ideals of the platinum dragon. He particularly detests undead and aberrations, believing them capable of very little but destruction.

Kragnrdd used to be a clan-home defender. The key word being "used to be".
His boastful mouth ended up getting the better of him, he claimed to have slain over fifty opponents in a single battle, which, being a dwarf, lead to a bit of a fight when one of his clan-brothers called him on his bluff. At that moment, he set out in order to perform something worth boasting about, and something that actually happened for that matter.
Thus far, his greatest conquest was a keg of cheap beer at that tavern a few towns back.
No matter, There's gotta be something worth beating up around here.
I'll PM you guys the info I sent him.
Just having a few connection issues.
What version are we using?
At least I am.
1.3b30 is just giving me this wierd IO error.
There is no password on the room.

I got my character sheet, you know my stats.
Er...wait....something isn't right here....
First off, I personally had alot of fun, and the more time I get with 4E the more I see that any fears I had were the product of an ignorant and bygone era. Anywho....
We ran the first combat of the KotS module, and fought a bunch of kobolds. We were ambushed on the road and found ourselves surrounded by a bunch of kobolds with spears, one with a sling, and two with swords and shields. The paladin (Rainfall), rogue (DA), and wizard (Pony) were the real heroes of this fight, because myself (Cleric) and the fighter (Der Waffle Mous) couldn't hit anything. The rogue was absolute murder, routinely dealing 20+ damage with single attacks. The wizard got set on fire by the slinger kobold as well, who was using some kind of special ammunition filled with evil, and by evil I mean fire.
The combat was much more mobile than 3E, and I felt the need to move around much more. I perfomred my clerical healing duties without having to give up a single turn of fighting, even though I didn't hit anything I did still get to attack every turn in addition to whatever healing I did, and movement. Positioning myself away from enemies and close to allies was alot of fun, as was avoiding Opportunity Attacks. One of my fears, that rogue players wouldn't be able to move as effectively around the battlefield since tumble is no longer a skill, was completely allayed. The rogue character has a higher AC against opportunity attacks and was able to dance around, despite the risk, and get into sneak attack position.
Overall, I had alot of fun and look forward to playing out some more of the adventure. The game is definitely still D&D, and I'll play it for the low level goodness at least.
Also: We still planning on playing tonight 6-9 PST?
I'll have enough maps cobbled together by 6 for at least two encounters, and maybe a third if there's time, plus there's actual RP and such to have at.
I've also made a few notes so I don't have to flip around for information, so things should go more smoothly this time around.
I'm also going to look into just scanning maps in, to see how much trouble it'll be versus copying them with tools.
No promises, but I'll also try to make some quickie tokens.
Speaking of which, you guys should probably hunt down some good token images for yourselves so we don't have any more Kobold Infiltrators
Though, it might take a little bit to get the grid scale right.
Don't make me pester you until you /ignore me!
The main thing with scanning is that I'll need to make several scans and paste them together.

Legionnaired: We'll see at Roll Call. Also there's still the issue of Level 2 and Level 3 for a non-pregen.
I was playing with it today and the adjust grid feature on maptools is pretty impressive.
6PM PST.
So 9 EST.
\o/
Cool, see you guys at 9pm.
The system works!
Sorry.
Fill my spot with someone else, I'm sure they'll be willing.
