Honestly, the only thing that really ticks me off on the OS front is those smarmy fucking Mac ads with Hodgman and that other douche. It's just so idiotic.

Look I fucking hate the stupid fucking OS war as much as the next guy.
All I'm saying is throwing out shit like "Mac users are on the whole ignorant" or "You can't be a Mac Poweruser" is just as bad as those idiots who say shit like "PCs are years behind Macs in everything ever" and "Macs are the only intelligent OS" and "The Mac is the Cadillac of the OS world"
I mean it's needlessly divisive, based on anecdotes and prejudices, and helps no one. It's an operating system for god's sake.
Different products are suitable for different types of people. Fighting words!Controversy!
This addresses my point how?
I agreed with Senjutsu's point that most Mac users are either very novice or very advanced, and there doesn't tend to be much middle ground.
I stated that I felt that this was due to the OS itself. Specifically, it's very user-friendly for the novice user, and is built on a *NIX core which is great for scripting and development work, but it's not so great for the power user.
Apparently you felt that this statement was playing into some religious OS war, when what I was saying is that different OSes are good for different types of user, which isn't really a warlike statement at all.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.
I'm always impressed by people that start threads for the sake of them being flamebait, then when called on it, deny it and accuse you of flamebaiting for calling them out.
I hate the internet sometimes.
Maybe it's not for you.
Yeah, I guess it's tough being an elitist sometimes.

Those ads are awesome.
The first couple were kind of funny. Then they just became stupid and insulting.
Although they did spawn the "I'm a PC" ad, which I think is pretty awesome.
Getting upset over those ads is the silliest thing
someone poking gentle fun at an operating system provokes an emotional response in only the nerdiest of the ur-nerds
Upset is a bit strong, they just irritate me greatly. It's not that I believe it's mis-representing either side, it's the tone of the ads that gets me. It's just so wrapped up in its own coolness. It's just so damned unlikable to me. I'm not a huge fan of the new Windows ones either, I feel like the kids in Africa saying "I'm a PC" is exploitative, and I couldn't give 2 shits about Deepak Chopra's opinion of Windows. The Mojave commercials, also irritating, but the saturation levels in comparison to the Mac Vs. PC ads just aren't as high.
The websites of clothing retailers are pretty terrible.
Generally flash-laden monstrosities with awful layouts and poor navigation controls, and an irritating tendency to randomly assail you with bad background music.
Also some surprisingly large companies appear to offer no means of shopping online.

Oh!
I get it now.
It took me a minute, I think I am slower than usual today.
Those ads are awesome.

I imagine Quid tastes like boiled leather and cheetos
I know right, why aren't they ever in pink or purple or a rainbow colored shirt?
I should be very drunk to attend such an event. So off to a power nap and more spongebob!
I would probably take that over black.
Is there a reason for that?

So salt and semen?
Fixed that for you.
Also, Senj won't listen to me when I tell him that those commercials are crimes against humanity and Hodgman and Long must pay for what they've done.

this is not an insult, just a statement of objectively verifiable fact
Is the budget to fix vista so small because there's nothing wrong with it?
=(
Yes.
just bugging you, man

You're being pretty harsh here Senj, what did retards ever do to justify being lumped in with sane?
