you can find the schematic in the F.Scott Campground in the southwest of the map, it's right by the Dunwich building
or you can find it in a random encounter with a wounded deathclaw and a dead wastelander
or Bannon gives it to you for helping him with his scheme to blackmail that guy
(I'm trying to get all three because the more of a schematic you have the better the item becomes)

will my character from F1 and F2 be viable? i really want to use the same archetype - small guns, speech, and steal with small frame and finesse. will i ever get any party members to use as mules? is small frame still in this one?

in the same "level" where you find the safe, go all the way south on the map and I believe it will be on the left side too, you'll find a straight metal door leading to the room with the fire extinguisher where the key is hidden
small guns and speech are essential choices for a first run through, I'd say
I don't know if you mean sneak or lockpick by steal but either is good
traits don't exist anymore, small frame is outright gone but finesse has become a perk
you can't give things to party members, just stims to heal them

I've looked all over the ship for an entrance but no dice.
steal is gone? gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. small frame is gone? double gay. i guess i will take barter instead because that way i can pump points into charisma/agility and be fine. the lockpicking minigame looks like something i don't want to deal with and i am unstealthy so i would screw up sneak.

EDIT: Sneak handles stealing now too, I forgot to mention that
F3 does a lot of merging of redundant skills
First Aid and Doctor merge to become Medicine
Sneak and Steal merge to become Sneak
steal is now sneak

oh, cool. so if i take sneak i can pickpocket and shit and choose not to have to crouch and crack around all the time? i hate first person sneaking with a vengeance.
well in order to pickpocket, you have to be sneaking
but you move almost as fast as running and good god sneaking past super mutant brutes with chainguns is very useful
I think I need to start over.
sneak means you crouch down and move around all slow, which lets you do stuff like sneak attacks and pickpocketing
but pickpocketing is its own skill

God I am doing this quest right now and it is so dumb. I really dig the android arc except that I think my game glitched and gave me all the clues after talking to one guy. I wasn't sure why that happened.
