I don't think there will be enough evidence to ever ban videogames. I'm pretty sure this will be viewed as anecdotal, not scientific evidence that games increase violent tendencies.

At 16 if I wanted to murder my parents via handgun for an SNES game they would have had to have a closed casket. My dad might have been pissed I murdered him, but at least I fucking handled the gun like man and put my target down cleanly.
