Skies of Arcadia is cool and all, but the actual combat and levelling system sucks. The random encounters were fucking nuts, too, which didn't help the situation at all.
The air combat was pretty fucking great, though. I have no idea why they didn't exploit that more. Also, creating a crew and a base of operations was really fun.
Regardless of how I feel about Skies of Arcadia, I think we can all agree that the game needs a sequel to fix all the stupid shit that was in it and, above all, give us another fucking sky pirate game. How hard is it to realize that this is what the people want, Japan?

I think Balthier is a secret character in FFT, ironically enough.
Though the dialogue in the PSP remake of FFT was some of the best I've seen so far.
At least it won't be too much of a pain to replay all that crap.

Skies of Arcadia was bullshit. The random encounter rate was easily twice what is tolerable even in the Gamecube version, the plot was forgettable, the combat animations were downright garbage, and the dialogue was par for a JRPG (that's bad}. The game had exactly one saving grace, and that was the ship-to-ship combat.
I need to start taking full advantage of having multiple save slots for one block for more of my games. KH2, for example, I have separate continue points for all of my favorite sections. I keep wanting to play games but eventually talk myself out of it because starting out is too often slow and tedious.

That game sucked dick, teefs.
But Vyse is cool enough just in Valkyria Chronicles to justify him.
As Dreamcast RPGs go, I mean. The PS2 version of the latter was a travesty.
what, no
shut up
It wasn't bad if you didn't have the Dreamcast version to compare it to, I guess.
I played the PS2 version and loved it.
Yeah, it's still a great game, but I hear the PS2 version had some serious issues.
The DC one blew me away. I'd never seen an RPG that gorgeous at the time.

Apparently no one in Japan heard that an FFVII remake is a free money-printer.
But are you denying that it would make them shit-tons of money?
They just made Valkryia Chronicles, which is pretty much the best game on the PS3.
Well, that explains that.
I especially miss Smilebit. Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio's devs.

I dunno if I'd consider either the best over-all. Delita maybe when it comes to the best character in FFT. It's between him and this guy in my eyes.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)

Probably not even close.
But I was running around in Barheim to get a deathbringer and some other armor and I found myself in an Esper battle.
Party was at level 30, the boss is rated for level 40-50.
Just let off 4 quickening chains and brought him down (he had 75k HP).
