xbox 360, VGA cable, widescreen monitor

So, I have a 360, the official VGA cable, and a new widescreen monitor - model is Viewsonic vx2245 - link below

http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktopdisplays/lcddisplays/xseries/vx2245wm/

So, the problem is that on the xbox360 dashboard, I can only select a resolution of either 1360 by 768 or 1920 by 1080 for the monitor (as well as the lower res 'standard' options)

Should there be other options I can pick? My new monitor's native resolution is 1680 by 1050 and I was hoping to be able to output the xbox's VGA signal at that resolution for the best possible picture.

At 1360 by 768 it looks ok, but I am sure it's better on my old monitor at 1280 by 1024.

Frustrating as I was fairly sure I'd done my homework on this and worked out that the xbox VGA cable would allow output at 1680 by 1050.

Any help or advice welcome....

Unfortunately, you're stuck with those resolutions for the time being.

Let's hope they add more and add aspect scaling. The vertical stretch bugs the shit outta me.
