Anyone tried PlayOn?

I got a $19.99 coupon for PlayOn outside the expo and tried it out this week. It's pretty awesome on the Wii, still beta and obviously so, but still...pretty cool to watch Hulu on a Wii. You need the coupon code to get the $19.99 price. You can get all that at pax.playon.tv

Does the Wii one require that you load something on the Wii, as an app? If so, how does that actually work? Do they give you something to copy to a memory card?

PlayOn is just a program on your computer, so if you have access to netflix.com or hulu.com it should work fine. Iv had it for about 6 months and love it!

Can you have it installed on more than one system? I've got a Wii upstairs and a PS3 downstairs I wouldn't mind having it on.

Hey, anyone have an extra code? And also, is there a monthly charge or is a one time thing?

Nope, you use the Wii's web browser.

Anyone who is looking for a code, all the information to get it for $19.99 is @ http://pax.playon.tv

I highly recommend this program, there are also third party plugins that allow streaming from HGTV, food network, adultswim and more.

Its installed on your computer and then your consoles access it from there, so you could have all 3 consoles accessing it (assuming your computer and connection could handle that).

And no, its a one-time fee. Get it -- its great :D

so if you have access to netflix.com or hulu.com it should work fine

netflix - not available in canada
hulu - can't stream in canada (without proxies, etc, which playon doesn't support)
    cbs - ^
    most other networks - ^

There is no code, just go to pax.playon.tv It has everything you need to know there.

Ah, was unaware Hulu denied service like that. :( If I could code at all i would work up a proxy plugin for hulu, alas, i cannot.

Thanks for the tip! I must have avoided the flyer outside the expo, I've gotten used to avoid anyone with papers on the streets downtown. I've definitely been wondering about PlayOn for my 360 for some time just never pulled the trigger or had time to really test it during the two week trial. Well, thanks to paxpox I have plenty of time and I'm impressed. I could tell it was streaming content but it still looked fairly good on my TV. Now I won't worry so bad about Comcast pulling the plug on those extra channels my digital TV has been picking up for the last two years.
