Alternatives to Beta Blockers?

I have glossophobia, and I have to do a 40-minute presentation next Friday.

The question is pretty simple:

Are there alternative medications? Some OTC drugs that can help me cope with the anxiety?

or maybe I should go see a doctor and get beta blocker prescriptions?

Nothing really over the counter unfortunately, there are some other anti-anxiety options, notably short acting benzodiazapenes - your doctor should be able to help you decide based on symptoms which way is the best to go.

Edit: Although Valerian root does have some anti-anxiety properties and functions similarly to Valium. I would try it a bit first though as it isn't really the kind of frank immediate effect you want, more of a relaxation and sleep aid - if you are really freaking out though it's not going to bring you down completely.
