The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Hey, so I'm helping my Chinese friend iron out the problems in her paper on media in the UK and China. I came across this part and... I just hate the first half of it. The second bit isn't awesome, but whatever:
Now that media regulation has been generally analyzed for the UK and China, it is necessary to provide comparisons of the major areas in which the nations are similar and different. Firstly, British television institution belongs to the state and private-management type, whereas the Chinese television stations belong to the state-management type.
That red part just... UGH. Obvious wordcount padding, redundant...
I hate it. not just because of weird grammar, mostly because of its actual banal content. But I've been doing this for like an hour and I'm burnt out.
A direct comparison between British and Chinese media regulation practices reveals that despite a number of striking differences, the two share some common traits with regards to blah blah blah.
then talk about some similarities, and wrap it up with an explanation of the differences being a likely result of the British being privately owned versus the state run Chinese system.
