So. There have been food threads before, but this is a new one.
Post all food-related things here!
Two items of food news:
1. I made tons of green beans, wax beans, and romano beans, sauteed with garlic and lemon juice and salt and pepper. It came from Gourmet Magazine and it was so very good.
2. I learned that you really, really shouldn't eat the outer leaves of an artichoke, no matter how good they taste with the dipping sauce. That was the most painful BM of my life. I felt like I was sacrificing a baby to Quetzalcoatl on the porcelain altar.
for the last two weeks I have eaten only Chef Boy Ar Dee, grilled cheese, and the cheapest hamburgers they sell at the local grocery store
I expect this diet to continue indefinitely
Well, an artichoke has tender inner leaves and tough outer leaves. You're supposed to stop eating before you get to the tough part. But I was a pig and paid the price.

I'm aware. I've just never had a painful BM as a result of eating an artichoke's out leaves. And artichokes are some of my favorite vegetables.
I've read that post several times and I still can't identify the dish you're talking about
granted I'm bad at recognizing these dishes' names in English, but no matter how I translate it, I still don't know if I've ever seen a dish even remotely close to that
you mentioned dim sum so I imagine it's meant to be Cantonese, and Cantonese is what I know best, but sorry dude

I bought some icecream and rootbeer. Tomorrow is a day wherein I have a rootbeer float.

fuck tamiflu, bacon is where it's at
Of course, I bought it that way and I literally just stuck it in the oven for 40 minutes but still.
I really need to learn how to cook.
Then I made some noodles from scratch for dinner with some vegetables, TVP, an egg, and a lot of sriracha.

EDIT: Not really all that nutritious.

awww jeahhh
gonna see if they can cook me up a batch of honey walnut prawns too
those things are so amazingly good
holy fuck they are good
roast chicken, stock, celery, carrots, onion, garlic, bit of thyme, salt, peppercorns, and a bay leaf
could've used some parsley
but it was so good
on Sunday I made a fried noodle (rice vermicelli, actually) dish involving minced pork, onion, carrot, mushroom, kecap manis, and oyster sauce
yum
raw
I think that would have been a better thread.

I recently found out that Australian sushi is not sushi at all, it's a bit depressing
I mean I prefer nigiri over the rolls, but even the rolls here aren't sushi rolls... they're like... weird... some of them contain CHICKEN
that said
I am going to learn how to make sushi rice because I could eat that shit by the bucketful
