Ergo chairs?

I'm looking something aeron-quality or close to it. I'll buy an Aeron if I have to, but I'd think there has to be some sort of brand-value markup at this point, which means I should be able to get a similar-quality chair for cheaper. Do people have any experiences with chairs that are as good or almost as good but less expensive?

I don't have any alternatives to offer, but I just wanted to comment about the Aeron. I've owned mine for almost 10 years and it is still in fantastic condition. It's survived 3-4 moves, college, grad school, and thousands of hours of use. While they are expensive (you're paying for the name, really), they last, and are fantastic chairs. You might be able to pick up a used one on e-bay or an online discount office supply store.

I got my Aeron on ebay for less than half the retail price. I love it, plus the long warranty.

got mine 600 shipped. their customer service department is a little ...confused sometimes. aka, they were sending me the 'your chair will be shipped in the next day or two' while i was already sitting on it.

note, that if you buy it off ebay you may not get the full warrentee.

and really, when you think about it, its the equivalent of ~$2 a day. you spend more for a car you use less.

which is lovely if you have the cash at the moment.

If anyone has a suggestion for something that isn't going to cost upwards of £200 on ebay and £500 new, I too would be really interested as I need a new chair that doesn't hurt.
