Good day Folks!

I got a HP Pavillion DV6000 and just last night I was happily browsin the interwebs.

This morning I gear it up and now it cannot see to recognize it's wireless adapter. I flick the little Wireless switch and it doesnt turn on, I have tried status updates with no avail. I am kinda at a loss as to what to do next. I tried looking for drivers for it but can't seem to find any. I really hate computer issues :S

Any help would be awesome

I can't help with your specific issue, but I can offer some advice. I know of specific issues with the wireless cards in HP laptops. I spent *hours* trying to diagnose a similar problem to yours on a friend's HP pavillion, and it turned out that the card itself had gone faulty, and needed to be replaced by HP. He sent the laptop away for warranty repair, and it came back as good as new. The wireless adapter had indeed broken.

The indicator of a more serious problem than a driver issue was that the LED light on the front of the laptop would not change colour, regardless of what position the switch was in.

Might be worth searching the HP forums for other users with the same problem as you. My own googling showed that HP wireless cards are not the most robust of things :(

Edit - this was the thread i spent hours trawling:

Check it out, it might help you....

One to to at least try is removing the driver from device manager and let Windows install it again and see if that fixes it.

    Right click on 'My computer'
    properties
    device manager
find the wireless adapater and delete it
reboot and Windows should install it again - it is worth a try.
