Hello.
I have this computer which recently failed to boot every then, and now completely refuse to do so. It's a
ACER AM5640-E5408A and it just hit one year of use last month. I don't recall paying for extra warranty. Now, before I go pay someone to check it and find the failing pieces, I would like to attempt finding it/them and buy/install new ones.
To explain the situation more clearly, starting a month or so ago, my computer suddenly refused to boot. By that, I mean that it powers up, flash my keyboard and mouse a second and then nothing. My fans keeps spinning, both motherboard and video card, and it remains like that until I turn it off.
At first, after a few attempts, it successfully booted normally, and I resumed my day, but since last week, it has become more frequent, and yesterday, it started giving blue screens as well as sudden screen freezes. This morning, no attempt of booting it up even made it open the monitor.
I opened the case and got rid of most dust, and checked around, finding no visible damage or burn or burning smell. After I took my hard drive to an alternate computer to backup my files, I tried again to boot it, but still with no avail. It flashes keyboard and mouse and the fans spins without apparent problems, and when I power it up everything just sounds like booting it when it was working, except it now don't.
What do you think could the problem could be? I can probably afford a new graphic card, though my 300W power supply restrain my freedom of choice, and maybe a new motherboard, but a whole new computer is out of choice.
