Dragon quest VI for DS and III at TGS UPDATE! NEWS! DQM: Joker 2 announced!

I was starting to worry that Squeenix had forgotten about its planned remake of DQ VI, but thankfully a playable demo is supposed to be at The Tokyo Game Show, along with a surprise, a cellphone remake of DQ III!

    I made a thread about this yesterday, but the more exposure, the better! I heart DQ, and it's good to see DQVI playable, which hopefully means it's close to release. I figured that S-E didn't want to steal any thunder from DQIX, so I wonder when they'll drop it on the release schedule.

    Here's the first look at DQ VI, it's just a single page with a few screenshots, and a look at the redrawn characters. Most look the same, but the hero looks a little less bulky.

    The dark horse hope I have is for an announcement of DQIII mobile being eventually released on iPhone, DS or PSP, but we'll see.

    I wonder if we'll get DQIX before DQVI or whether the releases would be swapped in the West for some reason.

    Dragon quest Wars is officially here. It can be pretty hard sofar, but I haven't really played it enough to really judge.

    This is a fortuitous bump, as FF1 and 2 recently got announced as coming to the iPhone App Store. I'd wager to say this mobile port is a definite possibility.

    Considering we're probably getting this game only six months after it came out in Japan I'd say we're doing pretty well.

    Dragon Quest VI is like the Final Fantasy III of the Dragon Quest series. It's the only one in the original six games that, before now, has neither had a remake nor an official English translation. And it's got an extensive class change system.

    Um, Dragon Quest IX isn't on PS3 (not yet, at least). It's on the Nintendo DS.

    I would kill a man and eat his skin for Dragon Quest VI... though now it appears I won't have to.

    PS... Which DQ game has the bonus boss who
    goes and beats up the final boss for you if you can kill him within a time limit? Because I totally think that's awesome.

    Also, apparently they're removing the monster-catching from this in lieu of slime-catching minigames. Stupid decision there, but I can forgive them as long as they don't fuck up the translation with unreadable accents. Again.

    The accents have never been unreadable, and monsters were useless in DQVI except for two or three incredibly difficult to catch, end game ones anyway. And the heal slime, of course.

    This isn't DQ V where taking away monsters would be a completely different game. This is a slight uncomplication of an absurdly complicated game.

    I'm torn on this. On the one side, I did have fun with DQM:J, and it being Joker means there's a good chance there'll be an Online component.

    On the other side, the online component was full of hacked up fucktards and I would have preferred something less 3D with some randomization.

    Damn that looks great! I loved Joker, and I'm definitely gonna get this!

    This one does have a much better hero design, I must admit.

    Plus, Is there enough DQ fans on this board to get a DQ discussion thread going? Ala the Final Fantasy one?
