Ok so i am going to Seattle on business w some free time for Pikes Place and a M's game. But i have recently found that i have a whole free day to piddle around. I lived in Seattle in the 80's and lived near the Nintendo hq, but other than that the city has become somewhat foreign to me. So what should i do that is worth doing in Seattle for a whole free day? Can you go to the islands for a whole day, is that sort of thing worth it? Or is it possible to tour Nintendo/ms (or is it even worth it)?

If it's a weekday, you should check out the observation level in the Columbia Tower. It's a better view of the city than the Space Needle, and significantly cheaper (though, it's not 360 degrees). If you've never been, you should go on the Seattle Underground tour.

Maybe, if you're a big fan of rock music and star trek, check out the Experience Music Project/Paul Allen's Sci-Fi Nerd Monument (I don't know what they're calling that part of it).

It's at the Seattle Center, and impossible to miss. It's almost assuredly the ugliest building you've ever seen.

It's over by Pioneer Square. Which is also where the Underground Tour is.

Shorty's down in Belltown. I love that place. Pinball, video games, hot dogs, booze! What's not to love?

The tallest one, it looks like where Darth Vader would live.

I don't know how much this will interest you but going to Mount Rainier National Park is quite a bit of fun. There's some great short, scenic hikes at both Paradise and Sunrise (and the Grove of the Patriachs in-between). Olympic National Park is fantastic but farther away. Snoqualmie falls is very close by and exceptionally pretty, no matter how much water is going over.

Gasworks park is a nice place to be at and chill, any time of day.

I would also walk all the way down broadway and sample some of the..."culture"

Head to the aquarium If you can, you might get to see the octopi getting fed :)

Plus there's a lot of cool looking fishies and stuff there.
