Fringe comes back on September 23rd for a third season. We must get out the viewers, the campaign for a season four needs to start now. If this show gets cancelled, everybody dies. So tell your friends. I am sure they don't want to die.
What is Fringe: Fringe is like a modern X-Files, with tiny flecks of Lost's mysterey and I want to say Firefly's style. Made by JJ Abrams, the show is very stylized and gets even more so as time goes on. Many of you may have abandoned the show in the first half of season one, as a mediocre X-Files clone. This turned out to be incorrect, horribly horribly incorrect. Where X-Files dithers, Fringe leaps. Where Lost confuses, Fringe explains. Also you will come to appreciate extremely nuanced performances. Especially by Jon Noble. This show truly is worth your time. If by the second half of season two, you aren't dropping your jaw every episode, something is wrong with you.
For those who want a recap AND have watched both seasons read the spoilers.
Watch this show, on Hulu, buy the DVDs, see if its on Netflix. If you do not watch it now, you will watch at some point in the future, and you will be pised it got canceled after season three. It will be a Firefly moment. So tell your friends, host a game night and then trick them into watching it. Whatever. I don't care.

Glyph Corner
The Fringe glyphs. Every episode has a series of symbols in the course of the commercial breaks, which after a season of detective work are found to correspond to letters in the alphabet, and give the true name of the episode.
I am not sure if wikipedia has them all still. They are usually accompanied by yellow dots with each glyph, giving permutations to each glyph's meaning (and corresponding letter.) Some of the episodes aired with the wrong glyphs due to errors but that has been corrected in the DVDs I am told. Contrary to popular belief the glyphs don't presage where the Observer will be seen in each episode. Though the observer can be seen in all episodes as far as I am aware. A never-ending game of Where's Waldo.

Season one investigates the pattern, a series of strange events which the FBI Fringe divison was tasked with investigation. The season starts off plodding but speeds up with the giant revelation that Massive Dynamics CEO William Bell, one of the only men connected to almost everything strange going on, is residing in an alternate dimension. In fact in the twin towers.
We find out through several episodes in the first season (as well with heavy foreboding) that the observers are involved in some capacity, and that Peter was stolen from this dimension in his youth. In the beginning of season two Charlie is killed by a doppleganger who crossed over from the other dimension after Olivia met with Bell. Olivia begins to remember her conversation with Bell, and with the help of Nina, Sam Weiss, and of course the team begins piecing everything together. The situation begins to deteriorate near the end of season two as the attacks on this dimension from the otherside accelerate. We get a glimpse into the past when Walter was more sane and see how it all started. Reality begins to unravel in New York City with buildings warping in and out, and finally Peter agrees to go to the otherside with Walternate after discovering he was kidnapped from the other dimension. Olivia and Walter lead a force to the otherside and eventually succeed in bringing Peter back (and we get to see some cool hellscapes of partly quarantined New York City and a completely desolate Boston.) Only to be replaced by alternate-Olivia in the last minute confusion before crossing back. And thus we are at season three.
