Going to Germany

I'm going to Germany next week, and while I'll be doing a bit of the Oktoberfest thing, I'm looking for some stuff to do other than just drinking.
I'm not exactly sure on my itinerary, but it looks like I'll be in Stuttgart from Wednesday to Sunday, and then I'll be in Munich from Sunday or Monday until Wednesday, with maybe a day trip to Dachau on Tuesday.
I want to go to Berlin to see the big ass Brachiosaurus skeleton but that's not gonna happen.
So what's some stuff to do? I'm gay for nice sights and historic stuff a bit, if that helps.
If you are anywhere near Cologne, I suggest visiting the Cologne Cathedral. I went there when I was in Germany, and it really is amazing. Plus you can climb one of the towers and look out over the city from 100 meters in the air!
Nope. Well, I might have one from a few years ago, but it wasn't for a real school (Art Institute) anyway.
Also, while I'm not looking for like, the whole "Travel Europe on $10 a day", I don't really want to drop mad bills, unless it's really worth it.
Look if it has a picture that looks remotely like you and says "school" or "student" on it, take it. You get crazy discounts or even free admission at a whole bunch of places.
I was in Munich a few years back around World Cup time and did a bike tour with this group: http://www.mikesbiketours.com/
It was pretty fun and didn't cost too much. The guides were entertaining and took us by a bunch of historic sites, great places for tourist photos, and a huge beer garden in the park. Overall I had a great time.
I also did a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle, but that took a few hours bus ride and most of a day. It was breathtaking (there was a hike up to the castle before tourning the interior) and definitely worth seeing if you have the time.
IMO, outside of Berlin, there is nothing of particular awesomeness in Germany, everything is friggin' great. I'd say though, unless you're really set on Stuttgart or have friends there, go somewhere else in Baden-Württenburg. Or make a tour of the region. It's really cheap to travel by local train and that area is fantastic, especially now.

I didn't set the trip, everything was booked by my brother so I'm definitely going to Stuttgart

Köln (Cologne) is almost 400km from Stuttgart and almost 600 from München (Munich). So you'd spend quite some time on the road/train and I don't think that's worth it, if you are only here for one week.
I wasn't impressed with Stuttgart, but I was only there for 2 days, so that doesn't count. You can easily find enough interesting things in Munich for 3-4 days. One (obvious) place is the English Garden.

You can usually get away with just saying you're a student if you look young enough.

Hopefully the BMW museum in Munich is renovated now. I went in 2006 and it totally sucked, it was 2 big rooms they put in the Olympic Park grounds (BMW HQ are right across the street).
Is the Deutches Museum the one that has that dragon from Never Ending Story in it? Or is that some other movie museum in Munich?

I've got "looking young" in spades
Also I know we're going to the Stuttgart Zoo already
Dachau is like a 20 minute train ride from Munich, at most. For a touristy area, the town around the memorial site itself is really laid back. if you're looking for that sort of thing, rent a bike. There's a restaurant in the old Schloss Dachau, so you can catch a breakfast buffet and see the castle (actually I'm not sure what's open on Tuesday because there are wierd hours).
Munich is an interesting place- even the bad sections of the city are ten times better than the slummy parts of Berlin. Go to the very large pedestrian zone, it contains a lot of little historic buildings and sites, and it should be a real carnival-like atmosphere during Oktoberfest.
you haven't really stated what your interests are.
there's a bunch of castles *sort of* near munich, you'd have to make a day trip out of that.
other than that munich can offer an english cinema (usually full of whooping yanks), a big museum, a huge industrial complex turned disco, loads of churches, an ancient clockwork machine on top of a church, etc.
Of course, with the oktoberfest being in town, you can bet that not many cultural events will be going.
There's the "systems" convention in a couple of weeks and I've been seeing a lot of posters for the annual erotic trade show, if you're into that sort of thing ... ;p

Lots of exhibits are in English, and some are not.

I'll definitely try to check that out. I love museums.
