Now it's officially worth it for me to get a MacBook battery on ebay since mine has shit the fuck out and they are like 45 bucks on eBay, which is a lot cheaper than a 1200 dollar computer
so what do i look for and are they okay to get off of ebay? my friend got one for his MBP on ebay the other year, but I just wanted to check in.

I'm also wondering if eBay isn't the best place, would any one recommend an alternative reliable place to get cheap replacement battery (a1185) for a MacBook?

Course, with apple batteries, you have the 'Apple Tax' which is where they charge you 25% more cause they gotta pay to keep the RDF running at all times. I work at an Apple Authorized Reseller, and in addition to the Apple stuff, we carry these. In my experience, they're just as good as Apple's OEM stuff, but a little bit cheaper. In fact, it's almost impossible to tell the difference between their batteries and Apple's. They must get them from the same supplier? I don't know, but they're a quality product.
