I've looked all through Skype's options, Skype's help and Google but I can't find any way to stop Skype from muting the other person when I talk. This is most likely done out of nessecity to prevent echo for people using speakers with their microphone, but for a headset user like me it's just distracting and irritating when you just give an affirmative noise or a quick "yeah" during a conversation and for half a second the other person's voice is ducked, or on the occasion when it's necessary to interrupt for whatever reason.
Extra question to disguise a week-later bump:
Could anyone recommend an alternative to Skype that doesn't have this issue if there isn't any solution to this? Preferably one less tech-savvy friends and family could handle.
not positive how easy it is to use but ventrilo is popularly used by gamers everywhere
if you send them the link i'm pretty sure it's not so hard to set up http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php
