360 usb ports suddenly not working.

So I was playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance earlier today with a wired controller, and everything was fine.
Then my roomates wanted to play Rock Band, so I plugged in the usb hub and all the instruments and we played for a while.
Now I'm trying to play games again and the usb ports on my 360 aren't recognizing anything. The wired controller doesn't work, and it doesn't work if I try using the usb port again.
WTF is going on?

this way we know if it's a problem with just the front part of the machine or with the machine over all
it's possible someone on gitbox or mic pulled on the cords and damaged the wiring
