So I just installed Windows 7 Professional (x64). So far so good. Now I'm having trouble getting my Dell E248WFP 24" into 1920x1200.
My video card is a 3800 series Radeon, specifically the HIS IceQ 3 Turbo 3850 AGP.
A 3850 AGP card.
Normally that chipset is on a PCIe card, and for some reason, the official Windows 7 Catalyst suite doesn't recognize it (or Windows isn't allowing it to install, not really sure which.)
HIS doesn't support this card anymore either and their last driver was from like 2008. I doubt they're going to put out a Windows 7 driver, let alone a 64 bit one.
Did it work in Vista? Grab the Vista driver, Windows 7 should be able to handle it. You may have to set the compatibility mode to Vista to get the installer to do it's thing properly.
Some 32-bit drivers may work too, though don't get your hopes up for something like a video driver.
Also, beware of Windows update trying to force crappy and/or broken drivers on you. I occasionally forget to double check updates before installing them and suddenly loose hardware driven OpenGL stuff on my Intel card. ;-)
